Thanks!I'll do the historical changes to the best of my ability tomorrow perhaps. BTW, when taking off, she want to be tail heavy and she flops back. Have to push fully down on the stick to get her level agian. ------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- IP: Logged |

I'm sure it has to do with removing the two foward pylons. Feel free to work on her Argon, I'm a dunce when it comes to setting up weights and balance.IP: Logged |

Hey Diego, if we're talking '1946' planes here, does she need something to escort ? Just a variation on the Ju88L theme. Royohboy's nose and Aladar's Vstab have been 'borrowed' Lost DOFs on pasted parts (ie Vstabs and Ailerons) and has no landing gear. Some other minor work needed as well. I guess it's just a tool for learning a bit more about Openplane.... Cheers, AGAS 5 [This message has been edited by AGAS - 5 (edited 09-09-2000).] IP: Logged |

What exactly did you change? I cant figure out why the plane is tilting backwards on takeoff. What two foward pylons do you speak of?------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- IP: Logged |

AGAS, That is my favorite Japanese med. bomber skin that you've...well anyone has made. Are those jet engines? Very quick I'm sure.Argon, I simply removed the two fwd pylons. Open up the newest Me262 SM. Look just fwd of the wings and under the nose. The names are pylonL and pylonR if I'm not mistaken. That was all I did to the SM, other than the usual renaming process.

Ok, I looked and found what you are talking about. LoL, still didnt work. After that I renamed the ME262.sm myself. Still no go. Then I just copy/pasted the ME262.sm to the ki201 folder and just renamed the file name to ki201.sm STILL no go.... I think the ME262.sm file is possesed!. It doesnt like to be Japanese and work correctly. ------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- IP: Logged |

Strange. I'll bet you fly like I do. Throttle to the max at takeoff. Thats how I get those Evil Kneivel wheelies.IP: Logged |

Diego thankyou for such kind comments They're the engines off the '262. With the Ju's weight it's not all that 'quick' yet....... Oh...sorry to interupt your dialog with ArgonV... ....my only 2c worth is - where is the fuel tank located ? if it's behind the pilot (or C of G) and you removed something up front...then it might unbalance things a tad...just a guess....good luck and its a great addition AGAS 5 [This message has been edited by AGAS - 5 (edited 09-10-2000).] IP: Logged |

Oddly enough, if you model a fighter/bomber version of the 262, that was exactly what they did do! I've just finished reading the Me262 combat diary, lists of actions, losses, kills etc. and the bomber conversion really screwed the plane. They had to give them extra fuel tanks to cope with the extra loads, engines having to be run that much harder to handle the bomb loads. The extra tank was behind the pilot, and this made them tail heavy and un-fightable. The pilots used to run down the aft tank first, to try and give their planes back some balance. Losses for Kg51 and Kg54 were heavy. Some 60% of the pilots lost their lives. This is nearly three times the casualty rate of their fighter counterparts.IP: Logged |

If you throttle up slowly the torque is easyer to controlso you wont find your self weaving from sid3e to side. this is evan worse in the ww1 planes ------------------ Vugel? IP: Logged |

You also need to remember that the 262 had a tendency to loose fore engine parts which clogged the air intakes, that and when the 262 became active, the pilots were mostly rookies.IP: Logged |
