Release 2 coming very shortly
It has working cockpit, gauges, gear indicators (for all 4 gears), canopy, working Nozzles that rotate realistically and the cockpit gauge matches their position. Working stabs, flight controls, flaps, working rudder pedals, etc. Nicely modeled landing gear that works/breaks/bends nicely. Pilot was borrowed from the recent P-51 and yes, he does all the stuff he does in that plane. Hit A and his arm raises up as if waving, move the joystick (and yes that works too in the cockpit) and his head tracks his flight, very neat. This was taking my enemy tracking head (turret) one step further and it's so fun to watch, kudo's to the guy who found out how to do it.
It's also been balanced with 1000 lbs of fuel in the tanks (which is what it should be loaded with in missions) and it flys very well from a standstill with nozzles at 91.5 degs, and also with them at 75 degs for about a 50 knot rolling takeoff (both VERY fun to do and the plane in general is very addicting to fly). I think that's about it for now. I am going to add the lever in the plane that works the nozzles also. It's coming along well! Just have to touch up part of the canopy near the front so it closes snugly, fix up some mapping of the cockpit floor and right wall, then I'll pack it up with a mission or two and all the associated files and send it off to you all.
Oh, it's also it's own SM file now (Harrier.sm but in the mission editor you'll see XV-6A Kestrel). This release (still Alpha-ish) should take place later today, 15 August, or tomorrow.
