Hi all!I have just finished my first ship - a Liberty Ship. This is one of those mass-produced cargo-ships that won the war. http://www.mcnett.org/fst/users/pwuesten/LibertyShip.zip Nat, I borrowed the wake from your Hood. I hope that's OK. Upload it to your site if you like. Peter IP: Logged |

Whoohooo! This sim gets better every day! A real convoy. The Scharnhost at the horizon. Italian airforce on arrival. Whats next? A divable Sub with functional torpedoes for sinking those convoys? Movable foot-soldiers ready to be blown into smithereens? Maybe controllable through an ego-shoter-interface? Is there any limit? I´m really curious about what you guys have in mind next! Stay ahead! IP: Logged |

I just tested your ship. Try turning up the hit points or something so she takes more damage. I dropped a bomb on her and completely missed. It landed a distance away but it still sank the ship!IP: Logged |

Argon, the ship should sink (it's based on the Cargo.sm by Whirlwind and Nat), and the cargo-hatches should smoke and burn when hit enough. As to the other prob: Yes, she jumps out of the water way too easily. This, however, might be a problem with the bombs. I think most of them are much too powerful. IP: Logged |

That is true Royhboy, the bombs are much too powerful. I fixed that a while ago (a month or so ago) by opening up each loadout.ppf file of each plane and changing all the warheads for all the bombs down. I just redid the hitpoints for your ship. Try 500000.IP: Logged |

if it helps any, the hit points for the Scharnhorst are 2500000, the Hood 1500000 and the Yamato 1000000, for some reason the Yamato doesn't sink as easily as the Hood, work that one out.. lolHey Roy, excellent piece of work, I have to admit it real cool to see a ship with more model detail than my basic ship shapes Welcome to the Ship Yard.. but don't forget, we still need an IJN Cruiser, I have the basics of one under way if you want to carry on the work Also, a German Battle ship is needed, maybe a destroyer aswell.. and a couple of US cruisers/battleships hehehe... can't let you go now you started on them ~Nat~ IP: Logged |

P.S. The wake is actually from Marcus.. lol, he let me use it aswell. And I'd be more than proad to add this cargo ship to the growing list of ships on my site, really good work IP: Logged |

Thanks for the input on hitpoints. Nat, I'd love to do a destroyer or two, or a corvette. Does anybody have 3-views for one of those?IP: Logged |

Roym I've been working on ships using a side and plan view only, since realisticaly we couldn't do ships to the level of detail of an aircraft, I build mine to match the basic shape and layout, so I think side and plan are enough for that. I guess as for pics, it depends very much on what ship you want to do, but I may have some links you can use.. Fee free to use anything from any of my ships, I'm not one for complainging that someone made an addon with parts of things I've done in the past, all the best if you can use them I say. But mail me, there are a couple of helpful tips or ideas I may be able to pass on Hey, I might just get some useful tips from you.. lol, ppl forget I'm still a novice at open plane and work greatly from trial and error.Anyway, feel free to mail me, and we'll see what you want/need and what I've got. ~Nat~ IP: Logged |
