I love this game.
I love the new planes.
I love the Nations.
I love the posts I read here.
MH, I'm for all the work youv'e done for us.
I'm for SOS upgrading SDOE.
I'm trying to wait patiently for the new plane packs but I would like to know a couple of things.
1. Is there a new plane pack out yet? and if not when will it be availabe?
2. Is there a WWI plane pack available? and if not when will it be available?

Ok...let's see...the last Plane Pack release was 5.3 and 5.3a. There is supposed to be a pack release of the contest planes, but unknown when it will be done. The next actual Plane Pack will be 5.4; again, timetable unknown although I know they hope for approx. monthly Plane Packs. ( Real world has a nasty habit of intruding on the best intentions, though. hehe ).Originally, I believe the WWI pack was scheduled for a May 1 release, but again, real world intruded and that date will possibly not be met. This news is as far as I know...there may be further updates. It is basically a 3D Realms/ Duke Nukem basis - it'll be ready when it's ready. LOL Hang in there, weasel!

Good news for you is that Razor has graciously decided to compile the most eceint plane pack an its patch into one. That should happen quickly. Thanks again Razor! The contest planes are being made into a pack as we type, and in the WWI section they are discussing the making of their pack. Thank you WWI guys! So, it looks like within a short while you will be able to upgrade to all the new planes of both world wars. Thank you to all the developers! IP: Logged |

I really and honestly and very very strongly believe that the DAMN BUGS should be fixed in PP5.3a first, this really does piss me off to no end to even hear a whisper of a PP5.4 when 5.3 is still fooked up. Most all the 190's have shitty map views, some of us tested a fix for the 262 sight alignment but no-one has released it (I have it if anyone wants it) I'm sure I've missed other bugs that are in there, there was a thread listing loads, and not a single one has ever been fixed to this day... PP5.4? I shit itWhy even bother releasing plane packs if they don't work right on release, and never get fixed after that??? Give me a nudge if there's ever one released that works and I'll download it, till then, forget it, yes I have 5.3a, but only because no one flys online with 5.2 anymore.. .not that I fly online anymore anyway since installing 5.3a... but thats another thread.. You know, these guys work hard releasing new aircraft.. hats off to them, great work! And you know what else... when we post a list of bugs.. they go out and fix the damn bugs! Hats off to them again for that.. dedicated to getting their baby right! OK, who's responsible for 5.3 then? and why aint it fixed? I'm gonna stop ranting here before my blood preassure blows the roof off here.... 5.4 my ass ------------------

Why rant if you have nothing to contribute but rants? The guys who work on the PP's are doing a fine job given that they dont have to do it at all. With each PP, certain issues get fixed, other sometime unforseen issues become visable. I agree that the current PP might have been better off with a bit of online beta testing before release, but with the general community screaming for a release then what can you expect. Hmm, sounds familar I personally think that as a whole the overall state of all planes in the PP are much better than in PP 5.2. Granted some are being tweaked for PP5.4 which IMO is great. But if you cant wait or contribute than I feel that there is no room to bitch. Dont forget these guys dont put out the plane packs to make any one person happy. They do it for thier own love of simming and aviation in general. Also no one gets payed to do this work. If it wasnt for them, we'd still be flying the original 10 planes that came with the game. You know, I knew that the same old answer would be the response to that.. that old "well why don't you do it yourself" well, I can't, that good enough, I can do pretty good paint jobs IMO, and I have created a fully working Snowy Dover, which I'm sure you know is not an easy thing to do, but since I can't make the aircraft, I can't add to that, but I will tell you this, I wil lnot d/l crap anymore, PP5.3a is crap, and if you can't admit it fine. I did say that alot of work was put into it, but as I also said, people that release individual aircraft make sure they actually WORK. It may take some patches, but who cares, they get it right.There are no things in 5.3 that have been overseen, because none were fixed to start with. If I really have to act like I'm contirbuting to something before I'm allowed to complain about the state of affairs.. well, lets face it.. thats childish... but just to pull it, I am ofcourse working with the team to release the Dauntless.. does that count? Oh sorry, I'm not actually modeling anything, or working an an FM or DM.. damn.. shucks, maybe that cuonts me out again.. I'll complain till I'm blue in the face when ppl blow the trumpet of something that sucks, becuase all the hard work put into it is wasted in the end cause it don't work right, and never got fixed.. no, lets not fix it.. lets brush it under the rug cause it's too much trouble now that every has it and has no choice but to use it and make do, we'll move onto a new pack instead and see what can go wrong this time.. thats a really clever idea. Start from something that works, not from something that doesn't, and you can't do that until the basis (5.3) is fixed! If you hadn't noticed, the plane pack not being right isn't anything that only annoys one person... the little things like trying to look at the inflight map view and only being able to see the top of the board, I'm not fussed about how they handle, they seem fine to me.. but the thing isn't finished! Half done? yes! OK then, onto the next! Is it really to much to ask for the list to be worked through and fixed.. or is that comparable to asking for Patch 1.5.1? Learnt your lessons well I see..... Nat,Everyone is trying the best they can in building the planes. Sometimes we just can't fix the bugs because we don't know how to, not because we don't want to. I pesonally made the planes so I can use them in the game. So if I am satisfied with the plane I may not be motivated work hard at fixing bugs found by other people. There is the water splash problem with the 109s and the map problem with the 190s. I want to fix them but don't know how. If I am going to wait till these bugs are fixed before releasing the planes then you may never see the 109s and 190s(the ones I made) in the game. Nat, Id have to agree with you. I know I have no room to complain, but I would like to see finished products for once. There are only like 1-2 basicly complete. Sorry, this is just my opinion, Im not trying to offend anyone, I would just like to see people finish what theyve started.IP: Logged |

I know that some bugs cant be fixed, cause people dont know what causes them cause people have no source code, but there are bugs that can be fixed and should. Why start on a new plane when an old one hasnt ben finished? If no planes get fixed, we are no better off than the guys who made this sim in the first place. I know people are working hard to complete their planes, I think this is great! but there are people who are starting on new stuff when the old stuff hasnt ben fixed to what it can be. Mposis, your motivation should be to release a plane that is complete, finished as finished as it can get, and a plane unlike the ones that were shipped with this game, one that is done as near as it can be.IP: Logged |

I also would like to see all of the bugs fixed. But it is like they said, If they could fix them they would. I know that we do not live in a perfect world. Nat, if you could try to look at what has been freely given to you, you may see your cup as half full in stead of half empty. I think that there has been a tremendous amount of improvements to this game since it has been delivered. Yes, there are bugs that need to be addressed. BUT, I still love to fly the planes even though I can't see a full map(etc.). I'll soon have more planes to fly than I know what to do with. There is not a sim out there now that can claim to have so many planes available. Your work is appreciated. I would like to help out but I have a job and a family. I could not spend the time needed to be sucessful. Since this is the case, I'll enjoy what I can. This is after all, a just a game (WAIT DON'T SOOT! ). This is a game that I love to play.IP: Logged |

Criticism can be constructive and helpful if voiced right. Merly stating that F@^#*'n this and S&%# that isnt really much of a help especially when you are trying to get people motivated to try to correct issues that you find anoying. Helping or contributing isnt just modeling or skins or even terrains, but as working with a group to achieve a common goal. Even simple beta testing for a project can help more than you could ever know. But simple irate ranting isnt the answer IMO. And as Mposis said, no one really cares if you download thier stuff anyhow. When you did Snowy Dover, you did because it was something that you felt was something you wanted to see, right, now did you really care if some people used it or not? Probably not. Why because it was a project you enjoyed and it made you happy. Would it have been nice for someone to come and bash your terrain as you have bashed the work of the PP crew? Gees, look at that nasty seaming, ick the textures dont even line up, what a bunch of crap! Feels good doesnt it? NO, I dont recall anyone posting about the problems with you terrain. Infact I recall people interested in HELPING you not flaming you. If you do your projects merly to gain some sort of status in this community then I feel you do it for the wrong reason. And to be honest, Siggi is much better at this than you  ------------------

Weasel, Only one otehr game has as many (more actually) planes than this game. MS Combat Flightsim. I currently have 90 planes for it. The 90 I have are the best ones picked out of about 120, so they are not crap quickly put together, although some need a little work.IP: Logged |

5.3A is no longer the standard. You will need planepack 5.3 and the 5.3bpatch to be standard. Use either tailslides site in the post above or click the online standard link just under the FSIC logo in each of the forums.IP: Logged | |
