Hi all!Just finished a campaign that takes place in Africa like the name suggests.
I've had this on my mind for a very long time and I was wondering if anyone else was thinking about it.
I was thinking, if someone could make a "dynamic" campaign in that there are ten or so (or more) missions made, and the player chooses their allegience and begins the campaign. At the end of the mission depending on whether the player won or lost, a debriefing would be shown (telling the player which mission to play next), and the next mission would be different.
Say for example, the player got their home base bombed in the first mission, the player would then start a different mission in the campaign and the briefing would state that his/her base was bombed previously and that he/she would have to take off from another base this time or less planes would be available this time and so on. If the player consistently destroys the enemy, the war will be in their favour. If not, the war will take a turn for the worst.
This way, a campaign wouldn't be played in the same order all the time (scripted) and the outcome would be variable to a degree.
I've downloaded some campaigns made by other people in this forum and I've always seen a fixed mission list that is played in order. Now, I agree that this type of campaign is easy to make and the author can make a whole list of engaging missions quickly, but (in my opinion) making a "dynamic" campaign would be more exciting.
I've actually tried to make a "dynamic" mission myself and you can download it at my site: FS Online.(http://members.xoom.com/harman_5)
It may be a little short but making this kind of campaign takes a *long* time.
Also would to ask if anyone knows what the bomb drop sound is named in FS:SDOE so I can replace it with another. I find that the default "hissing" sound made by bombs dropping is a little...strange?
Thanks All.
