I've heard something interesting about the Mosquito. A Mossie and a B-26 Marauder decided to have a little race to see which one of them was the fastest. The B-26 was a fast ship, and its crew was confident that they would win the race, when they saw the Mossie droning easily past, upside down on one engine!!!!!!!!!
It's absolutely true.Another absolytely true story was about a Sunderland that was out on a patrol, when it encountered six JU-88 fighters. The Sunderland was bristling with defensive and offensive armament, so after a quarter of an hour, three Junkerses had been downed, and the other three had to leave because resistance was too fierce. Other than a few bullet holes, the Sunderland was untouched!!!!!!
