ahh the stars, I really shouldn't say anything but yes there is something about looking into the starry sky that makes you more aware of your soul. Ok maybe I am the only one that feels that way haha. I could never buy a telescope because I'm afraid they will lose their romance if I knew too much. (knows about white dwarfs etc so I spoiled it already haha) I remember the comet a few years ago. Sitting in a field with someone special watching it. It was very nice
I should shut up and fly now.

Ahh, we just missed the Geminids Meteor shower (Shooting Stars) on December 13th of every year. You can see upto 50 shooting stars an hour at the peak time in the right place. Best one of the year.

The next good meteor shower should be Quarantids on January 3rd. About 30 per hour peak.

Here is to the stars...Including you Jade

acutally my father is an astronomer (SP?!) for the university here. I often go up to the observatory with him. This place has the 3rd largest telescope in Canada, so you can see quite a bit!

I'm no astronomer but I went out coyote
hunting the other morning. I'm sitting,
freezing my ass off waiting for the sun to
come up and I saw the neatest shooting star
I've ever seen. It went almost from horizon
to horizon. I forgot all about being cold
for a while.

Jade, still waiting for that picture with a
smile. Have a drink on me anyway.

Mad Dog here....

I used to live in Yellowknife, (Thats WAY up north for those who don't know) and since there isn't any civilization aside from the small city of 15,000 for hundreds of miles, the sky at night is incredibly clear. If you could see past the Northern lights, (which were very frequent up there) there were almost always little meteors racing across the sky. It was freakin' great!

Well the Northern Lights are quite a site.
As they light up the Fairbanks night.
But at thirty below, with 4 feet of snow.
I don't know if she'd enjoy the show.
Better to come when the winter is done.
Plenty of fun with nights full of sun.
After all the lass is cold in an Aussie summer! I'll be over there one of these winters to suffer some of that cold hehe.

.... And you can buy a video of the Northern Lights hehe... Just killing a little time.
