K boys, I just thought I would share a few thoughts on some new games coming out.

Star Trek: Hidden Evil
When I first started playing, I thought this was gonna be a great game, it is a pre-redered background, action/adventure game with controls ala Resident evil. I don't want to spend all my creative juices here so I'll keep it brief:
Don't buy this game!! it is aimed at the gamer who is intimidated by complexity, and challenge. Activision contracted this title out to Presto Studios after cleaning up the entire Star Trek liscence. Presto is best known for thier "Journeyman Project" series, and had little 3D experience before now. Activision gave them 1 year to complete it, and told them that they wanted it to be a hold your hand, step by step, game for non-gamers type of thing. Presto had to cut out an incredible amount of stuff in order to get it out on time, and this is where they ran into trouble.
Yhe game itself is actually quite pretty, and the control is also nice, but its just too damn easy!! My friend (who is by no means a real gamer) beat it in about 5hrs, and was thinking "Great demo guys, but wheres the game?" It is cheap ($29.99US) and if you want to get it for someone who sucks at games, then by all means do, but when even they beat it in no time at all and are using it for a coaster in a week, don't blame me. Being able to talk with and interact with Data and Picard is pretty cool since they actually did the voicover work, but leave this one on the shelf.

Let me know if you want me to keep doing these mini-reviews. If so, next up: SWAT 3!!

An excellent addition to the bar's normal activities, Mad Dog S....keep 'em coming. We can discuss the various ones we have tried after you review them....between our toasts to our wonderful mascot Jade.

Shameless promotionalism, isn't it?? But surrounded by so much violence, a touch of beauty is SO needed..

My son has been interested in SWAT 3; I am very interested in your review of that.

As a fairly extensive gamer myself,I like to read as many reviews as possible about any game, helps me pick from the endless barrage of crap!
Keep 'em comin' mad, maybe we can talk the bar proprieters into a "beer for reviews" deal, kind of like when I used to play for beer couple of years ago in dives like this.
