At the risk of repeating myself, is there anyone out there who can recommend a good free web host for my poor FS-SDOE web site? The services keep jerking around with their free offers. I have now had three homes for RAF Harkness. The first, TalkCity, dropped their size limit to 12MB, which when combined with my family stuff, was too little, so I moved the FS-SDOE stuff to Bravenet and was happy there for a while. Then they drop their total and I have to pull stuff off, and now they've upped the total but imposed a file size limit which is too small for 1024x1024 schemes, removed FTP access, and not allowed ZIP files, so the file size limit becomes irrelevent! Ahhhh! So I'm all set up at 150m.com despite their 20MB a day bandwidth limit, and BAM, they appear to have deleted my account and my site, presumably out of incompetance or they perceived my site as being for "storage", which they forbid. You think they could have notified me!

In short, I need a free host (I love FS-SDOE, but I'm not paying for a hobby site on principle!) with at least:

20MB or more of space
512KB or higher file size limit (preferably none)
Allows ZIP files
FTP Access

I don't need email and all the other happy crap so many of them seem to offer. I'm not asking for much, am I?

Have you tried geocities? I used this for my old website which was rather large. I believe it allows FTP, I don't recall a file size limit and although I never tried it I think you can put zip files on it. Here's the link http://geocities.yahoo.com/home

Try domaindlx http://www3.domaindlx.com/ They have 15 mb of space, no bandwidth restrictions and they allow asp (active server pages).

Try Tiscali. Not sure if you can access it outside the U.K but they do offer 50MB of free webspace.
