Ok guys. We had some good stuff come out of the BETA so far. while we were waiting for the results to come back, we were tinkering with some object and building textures. Some of them the testers havent even seen

Outstanding! So is this going to be SDOEs first ever origonal and most complete terrain? Bavaria still has a castle to fix, Midway needs airfields and islands fixed and the rest are really just repaints with new buildings.

This is a major step in the right direction!!!!

It will be a sad, sad day when Diego & co. stop work on new terrains. The above shots are absolutely stunning!!

About the castle - if I knew how to texture map, I would. I still want to paint it, but I can't texture map. It isn't one for a slap-dash job either, lots of round surfaces to map at correct scale and angles.

Is it totally new? Well, not totally. Its basically Africa with the coast entirely redone. Fear not, the water IS water and land is sand. We also added more than enough level area for the armor to play in. There are a total of 4 airfields and 1 BIG town.

I completely agree with some of the terrains needing some finishing touches. Midway looks like it will get much bigger soon so we wont add the airfield just yet. Bavaria just needs that castle texture mapped and the edge tiles added. I wish I knew how to complete these too. I keep saying that this year I'll get around to learning to model...if I could only get this damn paint off my hands

Had to do a double take there. Thought I was looking at an IL-2 screen shot. The A-36 should have a lot of fun on that map.

send me the castle and i'll texture map that baby in 10 mins.
