I´m still a newbie, but I´ve made a lot of good friends here in the community Now I´d like to get to know you guys better. I´d like to know what´s the story behind your nicknames and pilotnames. How did you come up with the particular one?...Is he a war hero of your own country? Maybe a modificaton of your own name? Tell me more...Well as you´ve noticed,my nick is very obvious...The fastest Finn in the skies of SDOE...I assume I´m the only one, so I´m pretty sure I´m the fastest...
Happy landings...TFF

well mine comes from a Simpsons episode, when Bart pulls out a case which is the "li'l bastard kit"
It was too funny and eventually it would be a nice nose art for a plane...
Then there's another explanation that says the nick comes from the fact I'm a real bastard (and not that little...), bu that's another story...

Well when I registered for an AOL screen name, I wanted it to be Argon. Argon was the name I stole from a Commanche 3 pilot. Well when I registered, Argon was taken! So I tried all the way up to Argon5 and all those were taken aswell! Then I decided to go backwards from there in Roman numerals. And what do ya know, ArgonV wasnt! Its also just a really cool sounding element.

Lothar is damn near spot on for my original nickname ... which I hope to be able to recover one day ...

well...when I first played the game, I kept forgetting that you had to hit F6 to activate the position. So...there I was in a Lanc... 190's closing on my tail ... switch to tailgunner ... and nothing! I reckoned the guy must have been dozing on the job ... so when I thought about an ID to sign on here ...that sprang to mind

The Pierre Radiateur is a very silly pilot name I used when I used to play Ace of Aces ... It was that or Fritz Piztonslappa .... which I have used online in WW2 .....

Well, playing ancients sim´s like f-117, f-14 from micropose , my prefered mission was bombimg convoys of trucks, tanks or troopers (in the low polygon graphic they look like ants!)
Gotcha! But wait, this must sound Ants-Killer! Yeah, but I´ve imagined how destructive this ants must be , so I decide swap the order of names to Killer-Ants in homenage to these poor low-poly-ghosts LOL

But I think must have from 50ths with these title...

Mine comes from wistful memories of my misspent youth, wearing all black and contemplating the eminent end of society while I listened to Souxie and the Banshees. I still wear lots of black, and have lots of skull motif decorations around me, but most “modern-goths” would scoff at me as an old wanna-be.

By the way, I have not, nor would I, wear face makeup unless I was at a costume party. I think the “make-up Goths” are silly (although some of them are kinda sexy).

My name comes from my self confidence, no, not arrogance, but the fact that I know my abilities aswell as my short commings, in that over the last 15 years or so, everything that I've turned my hand to be it hobby or work, I've become very very good at, from the Army, to Administration, landscape gardening, and most aspects of using PCs, so, when I opened a new AOL account I picked the German word Naturlich for my name (meaning Natural/Naturaly), which here is shorted to Nat which I answer to more redily than my own name. If you catch me on Unreal Tournement on the forums at Team59.com, or playing online with their servers (of which I'm now admin for one of them (Server#2 CHOAS mod)) then my name is V67th_Nat_>>Rogue<<, V67th for my squadron here (hoping to make it an UT clan one day.. Jeeves, I'm expecting you to join soon, you'll understand what I mean when you get my snail mail), Nat being my net name, and Rogue in that I don't have a clan.

Anyway, a long explination for something so simple, I do tend to talk alot LOL

Laters!

His nickname was Smokey. Since
he retired from the airforce and says he

I have always been an adventurer, hiking up water falls, checking the view from tall cliffs etc. My favorite move is "Raiders of the lost Ark".

I used to have a monster Jeep CJ-7 with a chevy 350 engine and 35" tires. I would play the soundtrack to "Raiders of the lost Ark" when off-roading (man that adds to the tension) and it would scare the heck out of my friends (me too sometimes)

I live in Richmond, KY, USA. There must be a half a dozen guys from the Kentucky area that are members of this board.

My wife and I have always toyed with the idea of starting a company which we have thought to call "Dave and Donna's Desktop Publishing", or "DDDP", or just "3dp". When I jumped into the web world it seemed like a good, short, and easily remembered callsign to go by. However, the recent problems with this board have seen me reincarnated as "Threedp", although I did consider "The Artist Formerly Known as 3dp", but thought that despite the humor in it, it was just too long!

My original nick was Karaya2 taken from the name of Erich Hartmann's Staffel. Karaya was also his radio call sign (some think it means 'sweetheart' but in his book the 'Blond Knight of Germany' Hartman is referred to as Karaya One and his wingman Karaya Two.

When the FSIC went down last time it ate Karaya 2 and then one day soon after while flying online with Rends and Vman Viper I was experiencing multiple cdts and Rends in his wisdom dubbed me MadCow because I was getting so dammed mad and frustrated.

Well, I picked up BULLET toward the end of my hardcore punker days when I was running around Hollywood in the late 80's. I think it evolved from a .50 cal shell I used to wear around my neck as a momento of my Navy days. My friends had names like Spider, Icky, Spaz, Stripe, and D-Day. They appearantly weren't comfortable with calling me Scott.

Funny thing is that I'm 36 now and I can be out with my 4 yr. old daughter doing the daddy thing and I'll suddenly hear "YO..BULLET..WHATS UP!!" Luckily shes not afraid of guys with big pink mohawks and a pound of metal in their face.

The 187 is a very sarcastic dig at all those hip-hop people. In L.A. it's the police code for homocide, and all the rappers are always going on about how they're gonna "1 8 7 yo mother f*****g ass". A guy I used to work with (a crazy hacker) said it would be a cool screen name. Since Bullet wasn't available I took it.

Since I had to re-register I'm stuck with the full form.

My favorite sqaud in the Pacific is the VMF 214 a.k.a Blacksheep sqaudron. Pappy Boyington is also one of my favorite WWII aces, so Blacksheep was the first name that came to mind when registering here. My original username was just Blacksheep but the board ate it so I picked Blacksheep01 which was Pappy Boyingtons callsign, there is also I book called Blacksheep One about Boyington I believe.

The law in my country says that with my eyesight I am blind, that tells you a lot about my flying .

that took a lot of faith...
blind faith in the engineers and mechanics that kept them on the edge.

I knew many places of SDOE, among them simfiles; there I saw the sounds of the Stuka of Commando, but I had not still found that airplane, so I sent an e-mail to the, asking him where I could get it. He responded me and it presented me in the forum. Desert Fox, is because he admired that general, and my biggest passion was always the armored of the WWII; long hours I passed playing with "Panzer Commander"

Flying Finn, thanks for starting this topic, I always love a good story. You and 'The Drummer, I gotta tell you I grew up with the son of a Finnish father and Swedish mother.

WTG: I often wondered how you got your name and LOL when I found out. thnx.
Smokey!, your post was funnier than you think. btw, what's the $ sign for?
Jeeves, you're a true millenium man.
MadCow!: My mom died of Mad-Cow's disease. OK..she was diagnosed with "CJD". but I have seen cows mad at my uncles dairy farm.
Bin Laden!: very timely.
Lots of good responses here!
I am a Canadian born Russian/German photojournalist, born and living in Vancouver, Canada and I like telling stories with pictures. I've imagined some great visuals of you people...thankyou.

Recon3 is my call sign. Webster's Dictionary: "reconnaissance", as in: documenting by land or sea. And... the # "3" has always been lucky, or significant, to me. I'm the third born, who lives on the third floor and married a 'Triple' Gemini (look up astrology).
TOO SCARREY!!!
I grew up around airports and watching World AT War and Black Sheep Squadron on TV starring Robert Conrad. Also, my dad turned me on to 'stangs about 10 years ago.
