I was on MacPlay and saw a promo for a mac version of FS. Does such a thing actually exist? Is there any way to get hold of a beta or demo if it's not available yet?

The topic is one of my faves, and we sure need more good mac games.

i guess if there is no demo at Macplay then there won´t be another anyway.
But i realy hope that they release it soon for the Mac.
Maybe you can get news from the Macworld next week.

Does that mean there was a demo on MacPlay at some point? IOf so maybe I can root it out.

MacPlay said in October that the mac version was on track for an end-of-November release. Obviously that did not happen, and there has been a deafening silence since then. More alarming is the fact that MacPlay apparently isn't even showing the game in any form at the MacWorld Expo next week (they announced that they were showing two other games) raising questions as to just how "close" it is to completion. If you want to think positive, I guess you can hope that they are working on OS X stuff, network stuff, maybe Gameranger support, and full compatibility with all the cool stuff from this community.

Hopefully we'll get a real news update from MacPlay sometime soon.

If you want to speed that up you could send an email to insidemacgames.com or macgamer.com asking them to follow up with MacPlay on the status.

They've got a virtually contentless promo for it on their site. That's what brought the game to my attention in the first place.

In many cases the transit of games from PC to Mac is tediously slow. I've been a big fan of the Myth series, but their Mac conversion of Myth 3 from MacSoft is already months behind the promised deadline.
