This is really turning into a great plane. I need a few guys to test the plane and tell me what you think of the new version and how do you like the dive brakes.

First 5 people that post back here will get a link to the latest files. Note: the cockpit is somewhat missing on the plane since I'm adding the openning canopy to the plane and its a little tricky to setup with the way I have the stuff made.

ok guys, I'll fix up a zip and make sure I have all the files in. this used ALOt of the P-51B so things may still link to it. Make sure you DON'T have it so I can tell if I need to fix something.

The Zip should be posted tonight (tues) sometime.

here you go guys, test away!

**Known Problems**

1. Hole in the left side cockpit. (I'm working on the moving canopy.)

2. A hole in the vertical stab when looking up from the bottom.

a few others but can't remember off the topof my head. Let me know if it crashes the game on your when it blows up. Also let me know if you can tell what blows up first so i can track down the problem. No DM has been done and it's still the DM from the version 2 that raider did so bullet holes are floating.

If you don't have the dive brakes command added to your keyboard inp file (was in some jets and zurs F-86) here you go.

well, she behaves very well, I guess u used the old flight model of the a 36, and not the P 51 one, cuz flying with flaps opened is ok... but as in the 51b, the holes textures on the cowling are positioned bad...
I'm goin back on her, anything in particular u want me to check out?

here's so mo:
there are holes in the tail section (like the ones in the p51b, do you remember?) and on the base of the windscreen.
I had a bad landing w/ explosion (just for testing of course ), but no CTD, btw gonna try more "explosive" tricks
Just one request: could you set up the detach speed of the landing gears to a higher value? I hate to see my landing gears being ripped away at just 200 mph!!!!
In the end a definitely good job, bro, as usual

lil b

P.S.
Any news about my special request?

well I ripped the landing gear out once too, when I did not retract it fast enough on take off, which made landing a bit tricky
I'm enjoying her nicely!

It behaves very predictably... it feels balanced and easy to hold on to.

I love the gear thing it brings me back to earth just when I think I am getting too good.

The Brakes do exactly what they were ment to do... I have splashed myself in the sea a couple of times to proove it.

The little cosmetic details I am sure you will clean easily... the bottom brake of the right wing seems a bit low when closed it leaves a gap where it should lay flat on the wing. Maybe it is caused by the low res I am using(1024x768).

Nice plane. The green drab skin is also nice it makes the plane look "factory stock" or something in a test stage.

ok, thanks for testing guys.

The gear think is the orginal code by raider that was on the latest P-51D in PP6.0 and higher. It was used on the B and then on the A36a.

NO DM has been done and the bullets are left over from the 51D.

I know about the brakes, its hard to line that up as good as the top.

olive drab scheme is based on Cas's great P-51B scheme. I've changed a few more things last night and the release scheme is now finished.

Superb Razer!!!, I'm addicted to the P51B,
love the P51D & look forward to test the A36a
If I had a hi-res clean template with just panel lines I would it give a bare aluminium skin a go (might anyway...even the 3 of them)

She is a lady from hell!!!

Great for ground attacks - pretty stable and great fire power Ripp off some FW-190 like a flying cannon

Nice take-off´s - no swinging at low speed, good response from vert stab.
I´ve maked 2 landings - 1 at low speed 130 and another in suicide speed 230... Well I´ve exploded in 2nd one

great job,

K-A

thanks guys, other then the cockpit on my end the plane is pretty much finished. (keeping in mind you guys don't find anything really wrong)

Speaking of metal schemes I converted the template for the B to metal and all i need now is to tweak the fuse area more and then it can be used on this and the B.

Well i'm having a tough time trying to find anything wrong with the 36. I like the fm and even though it has a feel of the P-51d I can still sense that it isn't the b. Everything falls into place with this plane and has quite a bite on the other end of the sight. The only thing that felt like it needed an adjustment is the landing gear, I beat the hell out of it and it didn't detatch from the plane, may have something to do with the (lack of) damage model. Overall I think you've scored another hit here Razer, great job on her and I like that "metal" skin too. Keep up the good work and I though it over and I'm willing to test that B-26 for you

the FM is a P-51B fm that jug head did. It is not the P-51D FM it's completely new.

It is a nice plane but isn't as polished as I'd like but its getting there.

Also, I forgot to mention that the addition of the dive brakes and the detail is outstanding, let alone the functionality.

Hey Razer, tried it last night & it's a HIT
I love the feel of those dive breaks, makes this the perfect tool for precision dive bombing. I guess the cockpit will be completed soon, but the only big thing i missed was the stick (visually and the look at the gunsight is over shooting when in close look mode otherwise great
(tried that old A36 Africa campaign & it was so much more fun with the new A36.
Thanks & Cheers /Steve

Razer, your work - as always - is simply amazing; love the A36 you have presented in it's current form, and looking forward to its soon-to-follow incarnations. Thanks for all the hard work and wonderful product.
