Well ... it was just a 5 minute quick test..but it seems to work.I took the old Ocean terrain, and made it 100 miles square! Ran a test with the me262, and ran out of fuel flying across it! So....I thought it was time to make Midway the size it should be. I will add the islands as airfield and town, and then maybe stick a few carriers in ... along with a possible 'island strip' for the Japanese to use. Shouldn't take too long to build actually! watch this space ------------------

I knew that someone would FINALLY do this! How 'bout some details. Does it take longer to load? are you using repeating tiles? Midway Attol is the correct size. Will you be using the texture? Can I get a sneak at it? Great job....as usual  IP: Logged |

Not leaving Europe altogether.... just gone for a holiday in the sun  It does take a little longer to load, but not much! The textures aren't tiled ...yet! They will be. I want to make a more detailed sea tile and don't think I can cope with a full supertexture!!!!! The texture tile that was Midway is going to be used .... in two ways! First, to make a greyscale bump-map to shape the terrain, then to map it on cut into sections to make the proper base tiles. I want to add some palm trees too.... I have found a way to do this without killing FR's, and I need to test this out. Soon as I got this sorted out, there will be a possibility of a few 'testers' being employed ------------------

Way to go WTG, this is amazing and I fully expected you to figure it out I'm really interested in the palm trees (not) killing FR's, this alone would have been enough but no-you had to take it a step further-just the guy you are (enough brown nosing) WONDERFUL!IP: Logged |

Cool!!!! I was thinking about Midway just this morning.... It really does need an actual airstrip. I have a really good picture (black and white...) from my PBY book if you would like..... Larger size is definately an added bonus....!!!THANKS

Just got back from vacation and am reading through the board here. Then all of a sudden I see this post about the Pacific. WTG, this is a great project, I cannot wait to see this terrain fully completed and to larger scale. I love the current Midway and always wished that it would be finished one day, now you are going to do it, Hurray TG! ------------------

Not recently ... started a new job last week, and I am working long days and getting way too little sleep. Soon as things settle down, I will get the islands in, and start tidying up. Meantime, I am working on smaller projects! I had to quit flying last night after a short run, coz I couldn't get my eyes to focus I was that sleepy. Wonder how the pilots in the BOB managed ! ------------------
