Announcing...

Soundbite Details:

-Thursday, December 27th starting at 10:00am Mountain Standard Time (5:00pm GMT), should run all day.
-Several missions, ground-ground, air-ground, air-air and combined operations.
-Night missions, dusk/dawn and daylight too.
-Fewer extra downloads (see below)

Storyline:

It is early 1945, and victory looks to be within reach. This doesn't seem to phase the German defenders, who are fighting with ever-increasing tenacity. As a part of the American operations in southern Germany, the stage is set for a massive battle in and over the state of Bavaria, a Clash of Eagles. Featuring the SDOE Patch .10, Jeeves' Loadouts, the picturesque Bavaria terrain and Harman's artillery and ground units both motorized and static, the immersiveness should meet or exceed the standard set by The Fox and The Rats.

Registration Information:
Because the format is one long session instead of two separate frames, I will not ask for email registration. I would like it, however, if people who are reasonably certain they can attend would post in this thread so I know there will be at least some people coming. If you get online and don't see anyone on the servers, check at Tailslide's place. Last time this happened to a few people I think, who ended up waiting for a few minutes in the lobby then leaving entirely.

Scheduling Information: Yes, if you're from North or South America and don't have the day off, the schedule stinks, at first glance. Because there will be all six (or more...) missions flown back to back in order, we could easily be online until the evening, and last time some people re-ran missions for a few more hours after I left. Because of my schedule, this is how I have to run it this time, next time it will be more geared to NA timing. You don't have to show up at start time to participate, just join in when you can. If we're in a mission you will have to wait a few minutes, but I hope you will think that its worth it to do so.

Required for Players
1. Plane Pack 6.1 (on top of 6.0, naturally)
2. Nations v2
3. Patch .10
4. Jeeves Loadouts
5. Harman's F&R Installer (includes artillery and static ground objects)
6. Bavaria Terrain
7. GP2

Any questions, comments or complaints can be addressed to me here or via email.

DOH, can't believe I'm gonna miss this event also. I'll just have to wait another few months before I can get into one of these events. I'm going to be on my way to Florida for vacation on December 27th, not that that's a bad option lol

I'm planning on it. I may need some advice to download the right stuff and get it in the right places on my computer.

This will be my first online flying time. Maybe.

Vmartini, you're Canadian, right? (Or at least in North America) We're starting at 10am mountain, that's 9am pacific, 11am central and 12 noon eastern time. Just to avoid confusion - the midnight referred to by another poster above is midnight _GMT_.

Crimson,
Are you on patch .10 (latest) ? and also do you check California12 on friday and saturday nights ? if so you should see some pilots. And while missions are played then you don't see the players in the lobby, so sometimes the best thing is just to go into the lobby and wait a bit. There's also a server telling you if games are in progress but I don't know the URL.
If you are on patch 1.5 then it's normal not to see players using the latest patch.

Good point Sailor - If possible please check your setup against other players online. I apologize, I had wanted to have a session specifically for testing installs but I don't have time. Instead, I am prepared to help people sort out the bugs at the beginning of the event, and once underway we should be fine. While the d/l list is long, you'll note most of it is already online standard stuff so if you're a regular player it shouldn't be much of a problem. Just make sure if you're doing a fresh install like me, that you read all the readmes or you will miss stuff.

Please also note the very important other Clash of Eagles thread I'm about to start - there are two other files, entirely optional but highly recommended, that you should consider in preparation for this event.

Hi Werner,

Well I hope to be there. Although 10am your time works out to 1am mine so if I do manage to show up (which I'm certain I will) I'm afraid the most I'll be able to stay is 2 or 3 hours or so. Still, I look forward to it all the same!

Flying Finn, here's a site that I recommend for doing these time conversions:
www.timezoneconverter.com

I ran your time through it and it's correct. 7pm it is.
