I did an unthinkable thing for which I will be ever regretful. In a fit of "I need more space on my harddrive" I removed SDOE (that's right - me - I did it) about a week ago.

Anyway, I've seen the light and I want back, trouble is I can't figure out how to modify my keyboard.inp to get the throttles to work in the new patch, plus a bunch of other modifications going back three years for which it's kind of difficult to remember all the changes.

Now that simfiles is backup I'll get the servers.dat file and should be back up to speed. I can also get the keyboard guide and try to recreate my keyboard file (but this is a last and unreliable resort).

I found tailslides keyboard.inp at his website for MS PP it works well enough for now. http://tailslide.firelight.dynip.com/?page=http://tailslide.firelight.dynip.com/sdoe.asp . If anyone has managed to get the independent throttle control to work properly perhaps they could post their version as well.

VDU finally nailed the Force Feedback and Joystick problems. The one caveat for the Joystick throttle is that some people may have to use JoystickSlider1 in their keyboard.inp file instead of JoystickAxisZ.

If you are not sure about this then just open keyboard.inp in your SDOE dir, find a line that starts with "inpThrottleAnalog" and change it to read :

inpThrottleAnalog = JoystickSlider1 : 0 | JoystickAxisZ : 0

Thanks Pye,

I found out that even if you identify a joystick in the keyboard inp if you have another device in the control panel not named / connected (haven't thoroughly tested this yet), the game doesn't recognize the named stick. (this is in 1.5.2.10). I'll try to investigate this further.

Does anyone know how to get the game to _ignore_ the stick and use the mouse?

I use the mouse for control but have other games that are stick-only. So I'm forever forgetting to unplug the stick when I start SDoE and then I have to quit, unplug, and restart.
