No, not a release notice (I wish it were...) There is currently a lock up on crash problem.... What you are about to see has been carefully guarded over the past 9 months or so, to the point that only small handfull know of its existance.... It was meant to be a surprise but.... I would rather spill the beans and let you know the plane is still being worked on (though the events of 911 halted things for longer than expected...) At any rate, in 1942 VP63 the the first squadron of aircraft anywhere in the world to be deployed with "retro firing bombs". If the plane was flying straight and level at 110 MHP, and they fired the retro rockets they would impact the surface at the same point where they had been launched...

I present to you the deadliest bomber soon to be in SDOE...

The images are in 3 parts Target (note the shadow on the ground). Launch (note the direction of the rockets). Destruction (note the area of destruction. Pay particular note to the weapons fired on the command center of the POW camp....
Series 1:
Target:

Launch:

Destruction:

Series 2:

Destruction:

These weapons were never used on ground targets, but the effect is shown best this way...

Neato! Now all we need is the MAD gear. :-)

You know, I'll bet none of the Parsoft guys even imagined this one. OpenPlane rocks.
