OK--- using VDU's suggestion, I altered them all text-wise, packaged them with the new weapons into a par file, and now neither the game seems to crash nor is the mission editor corrupted. Things are working perfectly now One small problem though! The file is 32 megs big!! I need to package it up somehow for upload-- a zip would be good I guess, but is an installer better? Something that would rename the default if someone wants to revert back? If someone could help me out with this little logistical thing here, I will get it up and ready to be tested once again- and I think finally it may be close to perfect...boy-- that is putting it on the line, isn't it? Well-- with my system (on Glide)- things work great! I am anxious to see how it works for those of you with higher end systems and running on something other than Glide! After this-- I will go back through all the plane pack trainers and change the loadout references,,,sounds like fun, don't it? ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! What's the status on this? I'm ready to grab it the moment it's available! One other question though. How can one package replacement loadouts into a PAR file and then have the game use the ones in the new PAR file instead of the ones in the original PAR files? Is there a hierarchy of PAR files? Does a loadout.ppf in data20.par get used in preference over the same loadout.ppf in data19.par, or vice versa? ------------------ Be seeing you, 3dp Visit RAF Harkness! Hey guys...Thanks to some tips from Maury, I am resetting the parameters for gunRanges....so those pesky bombers can't get you from 3000 feet out anymore That's over half a mile It takes time to go through almost 60 loadouts though, so be patient. I am also taking on some Base Pack duties that I never thought I would have before...so between the two, I may wait to release until the Base Pack is set...believe me- it'll be worth the wait!! 3dp....the loadouts are in data12.par, so I basically open up the 12, replace the old loadouts with mine, and repar it up-- when it is ready, you would basically either rename you data12.par (in case you wanted to back it up) and let mine take over instead....so yes- it will override since it is the same file Harm-- I will let you know,.....thanks for the offer....won't be long!
