I'm trying to make the switch to Win2k. I installed SDOE with the 1.5 patch and the x.9 WWW patch.
It starts up ok, but will freeze within 10-30 seconds of being inside a plane. Also, when I click "options", the buttons come up with no text labels. If I click on the top button, I breifly get the screen and then a crash-to-desktop.
I'm running Win2k with SP2 and all the MS updates including DirectX 8a. I've tried SDOE in OpenGL and D3D.
I know some people use Win2k, have you seen these problems before?
Thanks in advance!

Start by trying this...

make sure you have SP2
go to your SDoE folder and make a shortcut to the .exe
click on the shortcut, and get properties
you should see a tab called "Compatibility", select it
select "Run in compatibility mode" and select Win 98 as the mode
run the game by opening the shortcut

See what happens!

Hm, no go.
I tried win95 and win98 compatibility mode. Anyone have any more ideas? The text missing on the buttons seems to be distinctive.
