I've got a sneaky suspicion Rendsburger may be the one to ask about this. My trees were fine in mainland africa, but on one of the islands they looked more like large whitish pyramids with the tips cut off. I figured it was just a graphic that didn't load right, that sometimes happens on my Banshee.

I'm sorry if something you installed for F&R is causing problems, I had hoped that by using non-planepack planes I would avoid screwing up peoples' regular online related files, but then I rediscovered the night-africa-towntile bug.

Hi guys,
I got these effects after I installed all the files necessary for F&R. (GP2 was installed later)

With Rends in regular (non F&R) missions gave me this effects also and also some yellow lights in the hills around airfields. He didn't see them at that time.

Up till then all the missions grafics were fine, so it must be a found somewhere in those files needed for F&R.

I'll try to get a screenshot of that as well.

The only thing that would have fiddled with trees and whatnot is Rends' Africa fix, but that has been out for a long time now, so I don't know why this is cropping up now. I'd start investigating there, though.

None of the planes would have done it, the artillery is treated as a plane by the game, and the only other thing you got was two ground units, the checkpoint and the barricade.

Hi again, well I can't reproduce the yellow lights anymore.

But I made a closup of this "things" and I also tried to fly through them in a SpitIX over England...guess what..BOOM
Maybe that will help too to find out what's wrong here. After the explosion, those who where hit by me, disappeared!

Well guys, this is the first time i ever saw this and the first time anyone reported problems

I realy donīt know what it is except screwy treetifs.
Please do following:
First:
delete all texture cachefiles sdoechache.dir , sdoecache.tex , cache.tex , cache.dir (SDOE rebuild them).
Then fly missions again and see if the problem still occur.
Next:
Do you have Nat trees installed? I never got problems with Nat trees, but maybe it can help to find the problem.

One thing more.
Please rename the Town and the Airfield folder you find in the Media directory.
And then fly the mission again.

Hi Guys, I think I have the solution to your strange tree problem. I had the same exact problem a few months ago after installing the Africa fix. Nobody knew what was causing it.

So just for the heck of it I went into my SDOE directory and went to media/terrain/Rhineland. Once there I deleted the tree.sm file from the Rhineland folder and the giant white cross hairs and ghost looking things went away, meanwhile the trees still look alright.

This worked for me, please let me know if it works for you all.

Thanks for the answers, I'll try tonight .
And please, nobody should feel sorry about anything, you guys keep SDOE going, so this small problems are bound to happen sometime. Besides I have a crappy ATI rage vid card and this probably doesn't help at all.

Guys,
i put the tree1.sm Nat made into the terrainpack but i forget to include his 2 nice looking tree tifs too.
So if you have Nat trees already installed u will never se such anomalies .
Blacksheep is right, deleting the tree1.sm solved your problem!
