OK guy's first off let me say it's good to be back and for those of you that have not heard of me, don't worry you will see me soon enough.

I have installed the new patch and all looks good except this little issue with cache.

I have 2 folders now with the old un-patched data and the new patch info. I have copied accress all that I needed and today I used the new patch settings for the first time.

The issue is this - in the old un-patched version under the media folder I have 2 cache files as normall. I played 2 games on-line (patched) and when I look again I now have 4 cache files under the old un-patched media folder. On hitting fly it did take some time to load up which I expected as it was the first time I was using this patch but the wierd thing is when I hit fly for the second time it took 3 times as long and I could hear the drive going nuts - it did eventually let me in and even though I had a server not responding message I did see everyone and continued to have a great game.

Now when I look at the old media file I can see that just 2 of the cache files were updated, obviously with the patched terrain but one of them cache files was now 9meg which I have never seen before.

So my question is do I have all the files in the right place am I supposed to have the 2 cache files in my new folder where I launch the patched version of the game or am I just missing something?

Let me know guys because I'm itching to get back into it

The patch has it's own cache files. So anything you are loading for the first time with the patch will take longer. All four should be in your Media folder. The original ones are sdoecache.dir and sdoecache.tex. The patch ones are just cache.dir and cache.tex.
