Has anyone had hassles with the mission editor only saving one squadron?? I have this irritating bug in the mission editor, where having selected & saved both squadrons only one shows in the mission! This only happens in a random manner & so far I can't find any consistent factor when building a mission which could bring this about. What could be causing this? it happens in both ww1 and ww2 mission editing.IP: Logged |

Yup.. it looks like it is the same effect as for other problems with the mission-editor. Please check the following post for solutions http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001099.html cheers gt

Nope....not at all the same thing gt....there have been no problems with choosing squadrons based on my loadouts....in fact they have nothing whatsoever to do with each other.Dean-- two questions--- #1-- What squadrons were you trying to use? Were they default squads, or user-mades (like the Nations squads and the WWI squads?) #2-- were you using the mission editor from the 1.5 game or from the editor from 1.2.9? There is a problem where if you choose non-default squads in the beta patch editor, it causes an instant CTD.... ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! I noticed this too sometimes when making missions. You go to fly the mission offline and there is only one squadron listed and yet with others, all the squadrons in the mission are visable. I was noticing this problem way before the Beta Patches were released.Another problem. ME corruption may now be affecting all of my mission making templates with the exception of the Bavaria template. Apart from the display corruption, each and every new mission I now make using the loadouts aircraft folder results in an instant cdt both on & offline. I am only using the Patch 1.5.2.9. ME and this is happening with Africa, Rhineland, Dover, Tundra, Pacific and Smolensk but not with Bavaria mission making templates. Before I noticed the cdts, I tried deleting all the Ground Pack and 'redundant' aircraft/vehicles from the loadout-aircraft folder to see if the display corruption was fixed. I don't think I deleted any folders I should'nt have but this has got me stumped why I can't make any new missions with the new loads/weapons. GT's comments about deleting all the 'History' type of info from the loadouts makes sense but I think that somehow I (and perhaps a few others out there) may end up stuffing it up and deleting some necessary text from one or more of the files if we're not really carefull. As a suggestion maybe in the final release of the loadouts all of this 'History' and 'Language' type info could be removed from each loadout file and perhaps be placed in a seperate readme on each aircraft? I am using the 1.5.2.9 patch with pp6 and the new version of the ww1 pack. Mostly it appears to be the additional squadrons which won't load but there's not much consistency, it just leaves only one squadron in the 'squadron' window,i.e. the same one shows when I try to select another. Both are present in the mission itself so I have to switch sides if necessary to take control of the aircraft I'm supposed to be flying. This phenomenon also occurs in w.w.1 missions as well. Here's another strange one for you ....occasionally the direction I selected in the mission editor turns out to be totally different to the direction my plane is headed when the mission opens!! work that one out!!

Dean yes, I've noticed that too! As example you give 90deg and the plane starts at 270deg....but not always ...strange gt

OK...I think I may know what is up...seems a simple thing, but many may not know this. If you play your pilot in the game and when you set him up as a certain allegiance in the game (say American), then you can only fly the American squads offline....if you are a German pilot, you can only fly German squads. Now-- say you are a Soviet pilot and you are flying a mission that has no assigned Soviet squads, then any squad in the mission is playable. But say you set up a WWI mission with a British Sopwith against a German Albatross-- if your pilot's allegiance is German, you can only fly the Albatross....British?-- only the Sopwith....French or American?-- any of the planes. I hope I made it understandable...I do tend to babble at times Also- if I misinterpreted the problem, I apologize ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! I don't know if this is related or not. I have the P-40 in my Aircraft folder. The plane shows up in some Scramble missions that someone did. But, it has no ammunition and does not show up in the Mission Editor as a plane to select! There is a loadout for it in it's Aircraft folder.Any ideas? IP: Logged |

I have been meaning to mention another problem in the 2.9 patch mission editor. If you edit a mission 2 or 3 seperate times from your original editing, the missions will no longer show up in the multiplay folder for online play. It's not just me who is having this problem, several others are having this same exact problem. We don't know what is causing it. It seems if you play with the editor to much the mission won't show up online. I have evn triple checked to make sure it was placed in the multiplay folder! so it has to be some kind of bug. Just thought I would throw this problem out there, hopefully it will be addressed in the next patch. ------------------ -Blacksheep http://geocities.com/jays3299/toshindo.html IP: Logged |

just seems it's the 1529 patch that screws everything up, I've deleted everything and reloaded sdoe & pp6 without it, now my mission editor works properly

There is no question that 2.9 has an impact on the ME corruption. I posted this on the patch site as a bug some time ago. I can get corruption in 2.9 but when I load using 1.5 only I get no corruption. 2.9 is not the only factor but it makes the ME more sensitive to planes/loadouts somehow. The mission editor corruption started showing up long before any of the WWW patches so it is not the main culpret, just a contributor.
