" the weirdest place u've landed w/ the Storch" is not really a challenge using a plane which landingspeed is about 0 mph at high windspeed. What´s about "The Weirdest Place You´ve Landed The Fiesler And Get Airborne Again Without Reaching The 2nd Step Of Damage Textures?"? Or: "Whoohoo, I Shot Down A Mustang With That Thingie"

Nevertheless: Curious about those pics. Btw: Has it something to do with minetunnels?

The dam?

THE DAM?

Thats the challange?

Havn't you guys already done that in fighters yet?

There has got to be places way harder then that.

Ok now I really have to reinstall SDOE.

I have no good webspace to post to though.

Ok I've had no luck landing on any of the hangars (with no wind) yet lol, so here's my challenge, download version 2 and try out the training mission titled "Emergency - Landing" and see if you can land and stop the plane just past the halfway mark between the crates.

And just to prove I can do it, here's a pic. Plenty of room for improvement!

And no points for slamming on the brakes and ending up upside down only 1/3 the way between the crates.

And btw, the challenge is to land and stop in the shortest distance possible measured from the first set of crates (the ones in the top right of the pic above)....that is, land and stop as far away from the second set of crates (bottom left of pic) as possible...read the training mission text, that'll explain it better.

Cool stuff, yeah that wind thing is important, if someone uses some wind to pull off comething cool they should mention it so others know.

What about the little wooden thing off the runway in one of the french airstrips?

The name escapes me right now.

If you set the wind to 25mph and fly into it you can get the Storch to almost hover...just as it almost does in the real world. I prefer using no wind as it makes it more challenging and more dangerous if the plane stalls.

That wooden platform is at Abbeville Field in France, it's worth a shot...

My next "tagets" are the 2 castles and mines in Dover terrain, but I gotta confess that I find very difficult to make short landings cuz most of the times the gears break up or the plane noses down... that' sweird, I can't make a good slow three points landing...

If the plane is nosing down when you land then the wheel brakes must be locked on. Before landing, always press B once to release the brakes in case they are engaged...then you should be ok. With the gear being too weak, well I'm not sure, usually I break a wheel off at the worst...maybe your coming down too hard.
