Hi. What does this do?IP: Logged |

it gives all the planes real values, correct values, for the cannon and MGs fitted, it gives you in some cases proper bombs/rockets rather than ones from other nations, it gives correct explosion values for all bombs/rockets. Also in some cases you get extra loadouts and new weapons (Lancaster for one, and other Brit aircraft)Jeeves has put alot and I mean alot of work into researching all this data and putting it together correcting all the loadouts. Wow...thanks for the endorsement Nat Yup-- pretty much as he says. Basically, as different modelers made different planes (with each sharing the same guns)-- inconsistencies showed up. So while one's plane's .50 calibers were a certain weight, some other plane's was heavier...etc. So I went through and made all gun values consistent and accurate...and changed all the bombs to their proper explosive weights.... Now-- if you are playing w/o the beta patch, these new bomb values are way too powerful because of the way explosions are modeled in default SDOE...so using the beta patch-- these will be more appropriate New weapons include new Brit bombs (including the cookie bomb), German delayed action fused rockets (so you can get those B-17's with your R4M's)...and a few other surprises in the pathfinding department ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! what about the gravity and alt explosions in the patched version? Does it have to be on or off?li'l b IP: Logged |

some time ago I asked Raider to play a while w/ the delayed fuses and he released some good delayed bombs... is there a way to implement this even in your babies? That would be cool, a "5 secs delayed 500lbs" loadout option to make the famopus skip bombing!li'l b ------------------ ***WHEN THINGS GET HOT RIDE ONE OF THESE*** IP: Logged |

They probably could be-- if I knew what planes used delayed action bombs....I know the FW's used them with little to no success....but as far as the US using bombs for skip bombing-- weren't they just regular bombs? The info I have been using had no references to this...Gravity should have nothing to do with this, but the bombs will be more realistic with Alt. Explosions on... ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= [This message has been edited by Jeeves (edited 10-16-2001).] IP: Logged |

well jeeves, germans used them, that's 4 sure, I'm not sure about the americans tho, but I guess if u fly at 100 feet above the ground and u drop a 250lbs bomb the blast could cause u some trouble... li'l b ------------------ ***WHEN THINGS GET HOT RIDE ONE OF THESE*** IP: Logged |

The low level Mosquito raids used delayed fuses, up to 11 secs were required to enable them to get away safely.IP: Logged |

Well-- if we can get someone (or Raider ) to take the US bombs he started with and make them into German and British bombs, then I would go back and add them I suppose (although right now, the prospect of going back to look through all those loadout.ppf's makes me sick to my stomach!) I won't put American bombs on German or British planes though just to have it....that was the whole reason I begged those guys for the new bombs ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! BTW....when I said the FW's used them up above, I meant the Focke-Wulf 190's IP: Logged |

Hey guys, I have very little time to work on OPS right now, but give me the specs on which bombs, and how long the delay is and I should be able to get this done quickly. Unless some modeling needs to be done.BTW Jeeves, you did a hell of a great job on these loadouts. Your work is appreciated more than you know. It is guys like you that keep me interested in SDOE. Thanks Raider-- but pure and simply-- I could not have done what I did without guys like you, Nat, and wtg. Those weapons you guys made are really sweet.....and using the planes that you have all created sure makes it fun too When this game finally does die, I will always have some great planes to jump into when I want- and I have all you modelers to thank ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!
