I have a P3, 500mz, 16mb graphics card system. I installed GP2 but everytime I try to drive a vehicle, (kubelwagon for instance), I CTD, tried reducing texture detail, a variety of texture settings from 512x512 up...still ctd. What happens is I do see the mission start for a split second then it crashes.
I assumed I followed the joining directions right, because the new vehicles show up in training/hangar. I also uninstalled GP1 as directed. In my SDOE folder par24 is there. Am I missing something??? help me please, so I can enjoy your work. Sturm Spieler

I had this problem too until I remembered about adding two lines to the startup.ppf file - check in the readme, they're there. Happy driving! Werner ------------------ Abbeville Field: Dedicated to the SDOE Experience. IP: Logged |

I have a program that will add the lines to the startup.ppf. You do not have to do any editing. If you want it then send me an email.

I have all the lines called for. Some vehicles work, others don't. In D3D I get a CTD after loading. In OpenGL I get "App has caused an error in Opsim.dll."The one's that work tend to be the ones in PackI. The only new one I can get to load is the M21 Halftrack which I assume was a rework of the M16 Halftrack and not a completely new vehicle. But not all the old ones work either, like the Tiger II. Is it ok now Sturm? Jerry, I think it's the new "spdLimit" airfoil that is fitted to some vehicles (the ones you describe that are CTDing) that limits their speed, maybe isn't in the startup and that's causing the CTDs. Do a search in your startup for this line and add it if it's not there: "aircraft/airfoils/spdLimit.ppf" This is in the readme but I'll post here for clarity, make sure you have all these lines in your startup: "aircraft/airfoils/spdLimit.ppf" "aircraft/weapons/bazooka.sm" "aircraft/weapons/pnzrfst.sm" "aircraft/weapons/katrkt.sm" "aircraft/weapons/mortar50.sm" "aircraft/weapons/mortar80.sm" "aircraft/weapons/mortar120.sm" "aircraft/weapons/smkgren.sm" As an alternative, would you like try it with my copy of the startup? You can make a backup of yours.
Sturm I think it's the startup file that's causing your problem too, see the lines above and check whether they're in your startup or not... [This message has been edited by Harman_5 (edited 09-23-2001).] IP: Logged |

Great Pack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just got done browsing thru it. I must say Im VERY impressed!!!!!!So far I only have 2 questions: Are there any lights for these vehciles so I can see at night? And if so, how to I activate them? And I get a CTD with that one Russian flat bed truck when trying to play the Hangar mission. Will report more tomorrow! In the mean time, I must go play more!!!!!!! IP: Logged |

Jerry it's in the mail- er...email. Thanks Argon. At the moment there are no working headlights but this can be easily implemented possibly for GP3. Hmm I'm not sure what could be causing that CTD...will look into it though... Vahnatai you want to try it with my startup too? IP: Logged |

Guys it just occured to me, if any of you are still having CTDs for some reason with this pack, I have in fact included my current copy of the startup.ppf in the pack too. It's installed as "COMPLETE_GP2_startup.ppf" in your media folder. Try renaming your current startup to "startup_backup" or something then rename this complete startup file to "startup.ppf" and see how you go. This is of course only if you are experiencing CTDs. The complete startup is also useful when installing the GP on a new SDOE install with no existing startup file.
