progs too,but when i go to this link at simfiles,it goes to a dead link.i need something to load a plane into, right?.oh and if i put it into 3dmax,as an obj(how do i transfer a .sm? file into a obj(that is a big question.lol).
well generally,i want to design planes.and i need to really know where and what.sorry if this is a kinda lame question/request but,it is basically part of what has renewed my intrest in sdoe.(i am more impressed with this game then mscs..even know there is more planes to choose).the engine seems more fun.
any info or referrals welcome.thanks.

OK.....If the program you have is 'OpenPlane Studio' then the answer is simple!

To export parts from it, you select an object and choose export lod ( first button onthe lower of the toolbars ) Choose to export it as a .OBJ file ( the plugin should be included with OPS ) you can then import that into Max, play with it, and then export it again. OPS will import the .OBJ file and replace whatever part you have selcted.

Hippies plugin tools were for use with AC3D. There are a few Max users on the board ( Nat for sure, and a few others ) so if you get stuck, just post

I don't think you can transfer a whole SM into Max, but I knowyou can do it piece by piece. Build your new model in Max and export it piece by piece and imprt into the SM using OpenPlane Studio.
