Copied from the WWI forum:

Hi all,

With SV working full time on Wing With Wires, the WWI web page has fallen way behind and it doesn't look like it will be updated any time soon (I'd rather have SV working on WWW anyway, it's more important). In light of this I spent some time building a web site for us, the Open Pane WWI community, to call home. This is no ordinary web site. It will be maintained largely in part by you, the members of our community. It is set up that plane builders, skin makers, mission builders and ground vehicle makers can create, edit and delete projects that are seen on this site. It will be up to the creator of the project to keep his/her project up to date. In doing the site this way, we are not dependant on one person to update the site, but rather everyone. The first thing you may notice is that I do not have all of the current planes in the plane pack listed. I am hoping that the plane builder will add their planes as needed. I only added a few for testing purposes. Also, if I do have one of your planes listed, and you want to make a change to the project, email me with a password you would like to use and I will change the password in the database for you.

I can host this site on a computer I have sitting next to me at work. It's a lowly 233 mhz running Windows NT Server, but it is on a T1 line so there shouldn't be any problems. We may have a problem next spring though as the company I work for is building a new office and we will be moving. I don't believe it will be a problem as I have work related stuff on this computer also. We may experience some down time when we move to the new office building. With this computer being here at work, any problems cannot be fixed unless I am at work. So if a problem creeeps up on a weekend, we'll have to wait until Monday for me to fix it.

There is a page for uploading screen shots as well. Harman, I hope you don't mind, but I stole a couple of the screen shots that you posted at SimHQ and put them on this page for testing purposes. Please try to keep the screen shots about SDOE. If it isn't, I will promptly remove it.

I also have added a place to put your contact info for MSN Messenger. You can also edit and delete it if you like at a later date.

Let's make this site a shining example of our work and give prospective newbies a place to go to see what great accomplishments we have achieved.

If you have any ideas or comments of things you would like to see added or changed, please post them here.
