I'm appealing again to the community at large for 1024x1024 templates. With the ability to now add much greater detail to our skins, I'm sure a lot of painters out there are considering repaints. That said, there has already been some tremendous 1024x1024 work done (P40, Spitfire, Mustang, etc.) and I think it would be wonderful if the people creating the base templates (ie, with no markings or camo patterns) could share them with the community. I could host them on my site as long as I have room so there'd be one source for everyone to go to.All of those rivets! It's just so much work to create a good base, I'd hate to think that there's a dozen different folks out there working on a base high-res Mosquito when they could be working on the research, patterns, markings, and codes, the really fun part, if they already had a base template from someone willing to share. If you have such templates and you want credit, just asy so! I'm sure no one would object to giving credit where credit's due. If the response is good, we could even set it up as a "Project" so that effort wouldn't be duplicated. Folks could let others know what they're working on. I for one am considering creating several with my limited resources, but I don't want to waste my time and get 75% done only to suddenly see a BB topic "New High-Res ________ Available" featuring a skin with a much superior base to the one I've been laboring on! ------------------

Good point 3dpA question comes to my mind....is there already a Lancaster 1024x1024 scheme??? Please let me know!

If response wasn't good, a Lanc was maybe going to be my next one, however, you're welcome to it. As soon as you're done it, I for one will grab it and go to town! That said, don't start yet, perhaps there is one, or there's about to be one, who knows. That's why I posted here, but response has so far been light to say the least!To anyone with templates who still desires the shock value of announcing a new high-res scheme, I sympathize, but please try to think of others in this case. If secrets are desired to be kept, perhaps I (through my site and email) could act as a clearing house. Folks working on a new template for a scheme could contact me and let me know it's in the works and I would only tell others who inquire via email. Something like this: "Hi 3dp, I'm working on a high-res Beau and I will release the base template for it when I finish my first scheme done with it."
from plane painter 1 "Hi 3dp, I'm thinking about creating a high-res Beau template, but before I duplicate work, is one already in the works?"
from plane painter 2 "Hi, if you can wait, there is a high-res Beau template in the works and it will be released with its creators first scheme"
