I searched the forum with no luck.
It didnīt work, here is what i have done:
I Followed the readme and created an "OpenPlane" folder under the Media Folder.
And then?
How to get a plane working.
example :
OpenPlane/Ju52 folder (witch inludes Ju52.sm and loadout and texturesfolder)

it didnīt work
or
OpenPlane/aircraft/Ju52 folder
or
OpenPlane/Media/aircraft/Ju52 folder
or
OpenPlane/Ju52.sm and loadout.ppf

nothing works!

Reands... just put the ju52 folder(witch inludes Ju52.sm and loadout and texturesfolder) in the folder called openplane and then open up the patch and go to options and then go to open plane at the bottom and u can see the file there and then u can see that it can be selected or deselcted.

I think this OPP feature only works if you place PAR files into the Openplane folder...so you can put PP6 and 6.1 in there (I think) and activate and de-activate them...but it won't work on single folders and files.

Hello Rends,

I created two folders "planepacks" and "WW1" under the media-folder but only with par-files in it. Ans It works. I can select it in the openplane button in the patch.
Never tried a single aircraft.

If this only works with parfiles it is bad.I thought i can place all my non PP planes there,so i didnīt need to rename my aircraft folder everytime before i go online.

Thanks for you answers!

Rends,

Go to my web page and follow the instructions for pp6.1... you may have to uninstall/delete and start over, but it is worth your time. If you follow correctly the openplane "switch" works like a charm. I am not up on the ww1 stuff or single plane but it should work the same. Like Biggles said above any thing new needs to go into this Openplane folder and then a switch is created. I am not sure you need to do this with a single plane. I have added them too but not though the open plane (I am not at my home computer right now) and you will not create missmatches online, UNLESS the plane you add is an updated version of one in the par files.

I've put 6.1 and OPWWI pack2 each in par file in with the openplane folder option and they work fine, but haven't tried a single plane by itself. I'll try it and get back. Yes I see it works for one person, but can't hurt to try another. Will be cool if it does like using Campaign Manager in RB3D.

Hmm, I don't see how this works with a single plane. Didn't for me.

If I was you Rendsburger, what I would do is to make a copy of the 6.1 par files and then unbig them(with bigmunger) and put all the extra planes into them and then turn it into a par file again. Make a folder called "all planes", put those new par files in it, and then put that folder in the "openplane" folder. Seems like that would be easier than turning 20 different planes on an off individually. The idea sounds so good that I think thats what i'll do with my set up.

Biggles,
i tried the way u described and i can activate the planes (light is green) and SDOE restarts, but i cant see them in Hangar.
I will go back and try if they works even if they donīt appear in Hangar.
Maybe the Hangar pics didnīt appear if the pics are placed in the GUI folder and not in OpenPlane/Gui...

If this didnīt work i will try to pack them into a par file.Wich Par file is free? Maybe a number the WWI pack used, because i didnīt fly WWI stuff.

Thanks for answer guys.

Rends,

You don't need to open the par and put planes in it. I will give you post tonight to tell you which folder to place them in, I am at work now.

There is no reason you would want to turn them on/off like the Openplane folder does. You will not have any missmatch problems unless the plane your adding is a newer version of the one in the par file, and you try to join a hosted mission where the host is using the old plane. The add-ons always have priority over the par files.

You will then need to make some missions with your newly added plane. Obviously, if you host a mission with the new plane and no one else has added that plane then they will not be able to fly.

I have done some beta tests with brand new planes and have had zero problems online.

Rends,

Any add-on plane (looks like most are .zips) should be extracted to the:

C:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron\Media\Aircraft

folder. The extract will create a new plane folder (such as p51b) within this Aircraft folder. This will then allow you access the add-on plane(s) with the mission builder, and subsquently when you fly those missions you created with the add-on plane.

Anyone correct me if I am wrong please.

Good Luck!
