Even though this is an Off Topic subject you must read this. I just recieved an email from one Adam Wyatt with an attachment. It will read "A survey" with a 535K attached file. Don't open the attached file, it is a Trojan Virus. I put this here because this is the most frequently visited area. So to the moderators I say, leave this up for a bit so the others can be informed then either delete it or move it to the off topic section.Wulfe190

It still boggles my mind when I hear stuff like this. How long is it going to take for everybody to get it?
Don't open attachments from anybody! Even your friends! You never know from whence it came. As a matter of fact, if you don't know who sent you the e-mail, don't open it either. DELETE IT!
Have a backup of your HD. Download, PAY FOR and keep up-dated, an anti-viral program.

You know there is a line between being parinoid over things and merely being security conscious. E-mail is one of the main reasons for people to have PC computers and USE them. If you cannont get prints or assorted interesting files from your friends,what the hell is the point? Maybe it's just a matter of choosing your friends carefully, and supplementally, too, as you suggest use a PC virus program. My Norton one seems to find the little peckers whenever they pop up, though I've never had a PC virus sent to me by an actual friend. DMJ IP: Logged |
