1.Will the Spit and P38 come with the hires reflection cockpits?
2.Will the planes comes with hires textures?
3.Is there currently any work at the Ju88? Well i´m working (as a small sidestep project )at the Ju88 to make some small changes:
hires skin/DM-skin,better radioantenne,a 2sided Vstab and a 3men crew.
Would you like it to include it?
4.If there anybody who made a german translation for all training/hangar description if needed? The currently 109 as example is a bad babelfish translation.

Hi Ren, I'll try to work through your questions:

1 - Undecided, but probably.
2 - No, but they will be set to accept 1024 texture size so that no SM mods are needed.
3 - Ju88 is part of DIME, and although we're using an 88 we're waiting on them finishing the work on it. You should speak to DIME before going any further because I'm not sure of the work done on it, but I'm sure one will reply here and you'll be able to co-ord with them on the improvements you've done
4 - hhmm.. good point, some of us speak German, but I would rather have a German perosn do the translations, we shall check this, thanks Ren!

"babelfish" LOL don't forget your towel!

Crew cuts and dark glasses If you guys use the hi-res cockpits will you make it optional for those of us that have slower machines?

Also since you will not be using the 1024 res on the skins I assume they will be 512, no?

As far as the work that Rends is doing on the "88" could some of their ideas be intertwined to get the best of both worlds?

I speak a little pig latin and double dutch but sorry no "babblefish"

Thanks...P

Psi, even when a plane is set to accept 1024 textures the user still dictates what texture size his system will display. The default will still be 256, like now. You have the option in the OpenPlane menu screen to select 512 or 1024.

If you install a 1024 texture but opt for one of the lower resolutions the game will resize the texture for your system. In other words, setting the plane for 1024 is only setting the upper limit the game will accept. Like a speed limit, you don't have to drive that fast but you can if you want.

Message to the Crew: Please include the hi-res cockpits. Can the capablility be built in but the actual use be a user option, like the hi-res skins?

PSI, skins.. unless they are already 512 we won't be changing that, currently we have no plans to start editing every skin to make it usable at higher resolutions, but also, since if we did do the it's would greatly increase the download size of the pack as a whole I doubt we'll ever do it, we'll just enable the option for people to add them at their will (I say this because it's all well and good having the option in SDOE, but unless the SM is set to use 1024x1024 textures it's still not gonna play AFAIK). So, unless an aircraft already has a 512 textue, all textures wil be 256x256.

Cockpits, we plan to leave the current system inplace where you will have the option to use high res or not. (this isn't my dpt, so slap me guys if I'm wrong)

As to the Ju88, hopefully it's a DIME thang lol

Rendsberger, we wanted to use Harman's Ju88 with the DM for the DIME upgrade. When I went to do the FM, I noticed the origin of the model was way too far forward, so the aircraft's pivot point is incorrect (like the He-162). This really hoses the FM.

This was a problem going way back. Harman wasn't aware the model he wsa using for a base suffered from this. He's been getting everything realigned so we can get it back and use it as the "official" Ju-88 for DIME. But, it's a tedious process.

Well Da Jug pretty much covered it all, but yes I'm working on the '88 currently...this will be v6.3 of the DM I'm applying to this aircraft, features currently include flat tires (from dmg and hard-landings), visual dmg, advanced engine dm, fm perfomance loss/drag from dmg and much more. Currently as Da Jug said, that CoG issue is really slowing things down...but I've fixed the CoG on the fuse now (in my opinion anyway) and all that remains is all the parts to be re-aligned with the fuselage's new position...plus all the damage panels. (read: tedious)

Rends, I would be happy to co-ordinate with you on this plane, I could use some help and the work of two people goes much further than one imo. Drop me an email and we can discuss this in more detail if you wish.

Rendsburger,
what´s about the two of us volunteering for that translation-thing? I mean, my german is rather ok, so is yours? Btw, I still have some translations to do for Werner M. (squadron-descriptions), would you like to contribute in this?

Yes this is true and understood but, I'm a tester for the Ju52 for Rends and when I received it it was 512 res. It was very blurry on my system that has a tex limit of 256 (Voodoo Banshee) I couldn't live with that so I got Gimp and resized the tiff to 256 and it's very good right now, as good as other 256 res skins. But my biggest concern is that I don't want to have to do this to all A/C, but I will if I have too. That was the sum of that question, and thanks.

OK Psi, now I understand. I thought you were thinking that you couldn't fly at all with the plane set at 1024.

You're right, I tested a 1024 texture at the 256 setting and it looks worse than a regular 256, but really good at 512. I guess the answer for you is stay away from the hi-res textures until you upgrade. Don't wait too long, the hi-res textures are magnificent.

I hope the builders are listening and release their planes with at least one 256 texture for people with the older cards.

rgr Jerry, that was my concern for people that don't have the capabilities to use the hi-res, like me And yes I know how good the look Cas sent me some shots of his work, looks great. I thought the Ju52 looked real good in that post that Rends put up but couldn't see it in game I know I got to get a new system some day but I'm a tight ass by nature. (not really) But thanks for your concern and thanks Snickers that would be great if you could do that for us...

Check your mail
