Hello DJH,
I'm just returning from vacation and as you know I sent a few update CDs in early august to a few players interested. It was originally suppposed to be a french version only but as it turned out that 2/3rd of the people interested preferred it in English I quickly translated (approximately) the 2 main documents before sending the CDs.
My question is : should I translate the rest and offer it again or will your version be ready soon and'll take over from me. I can distribute your version for France if you'r OK.
Approx ETA for a translated version : 1 to 2 weeks.
BTW I noticed how difficult and expensive it can be to exchange cross border payments for small amounts, so you really need someone in nearly every country.
Volumes : I made 14 copies, 2 for beta testers, 3 for magazines, 4 for people who had devlopped softs included in the CD (like Anim8r or AC3D) that left 5 for players and I still have a couple to send when it's updated with the last releases from this month. Total 16 copies for 2 major updates of the content because WW1 version 2 came out between beta testing and final release.
This means hard to decentralize production.

On the bright side I really think people will appreciate the architecture you are trying to implement (with .exe installers) AND the new file / Pack system that "The Crew" will set up.
And send me your adress, I'll send you a copy (so you see the interface, the cover print and the sticker).

Sailor, thanks again for that CD. It has really saved me some disk space and heartburn!

DJH, anything you do on this front I'll support all over again!

Ya can never have too many SDOE files...

Never too many terrains...

Never too many aircraft...

Never too many campaigns...

Sailor, I'm going to wait until the new base pack is released before making them availabe. They'd be obsolete in a couple weeks with the current plane pack.

Yes, you or anyone else can distribute them in their respective country, either as is or with modifications.
