If anyone has any experience with fatal game freezes on a 3DFX card with the standard loadings/patches, please read my short post in Help/FAQ and give me some input. This is driving me nuts. I don't know what to try next.Derek IP: Logged |

I have the same problem.Had to remove all plane packs. My computor is 350mh with a voodoo 3500.And it freezes up constantly. So i use the bata aircraft instead no freezing any more. There must be a bug in some of the packs aircraft. So I am curently testing all the off line planes(that i like the most)And will burn an offline Back up cd.I am thinking of making it availlabe to others but it needs more work.Ps do not fly into the floating buildings in bavria...I lost a p-38 that way.IP: Logged |

If so I wonder if the Plane Pack 6.1(instead of 6.0) has the same "bugs". What I'm finding is that whatever the crux of the crash is, it's obviously related to the rocket firing/bomb use crash. It's exactly the same crash in effect, and it happened the first time I ever tried a rocket fire test from the P-47, just like the tile corruption followed in seconds by the freeze up type of crash. I'm getting really sick of having to turn off my PC in the wrong way! DMJ IP: Logged |

Paragreen,There are problems with the newer beta drivers they released before they went under. Also, if you have the desktop color depth higher than SDOE's this causes problems. Set the desktop color depth to 16 bits (When SOE was released, 3Dfx hardware was only capable of 16 bit, that's why this occurs) [This message has been edited by Da Jug head (edited 08-27-2001).] IP: Logged |

I couldn't even make it to the menu screen that way! It dropped back to the desktop and a blank "Screaming Demons" window and dead keys. Also it repeated it's self three times. Maybe I'll try to use 3DFX again later, but for now the only thing that works is D3D mode, with a 3DFX card! Hey Paragreen,Sorry to hear that. Too bad 3Dfx went belly up, you probably wouldn't be having these problems. IP: Logged |

Paragreen, Can you tell us exactly where you installed all the stuff step by step. This way one of the smart guys here might be able to detect an install error or at the very least get you up for more than 10 minutes. There are people here that can help you overcome this "hating life" thing P IP: Logged |

[QUOTE]Originally posted by Psi: [B]Paragreen, Can you tell us exactly where you installed all the stuff step by step. To be honest, I think everyone has had enough discussion over my idiotic SDOE and 3DFX gaming problems by now. I'm going to look into this thing with 3DFX some time later, but for now it seems to run fine in the D3D mode, so the boat floats. FYI it was a simple, straight, by the book order. 1)Load the install from the SDOE disk. 2)1.5 patch .exe 3)Plane Pack 6.0 .exe 4)Nation's V2.0 in the suggested folder. 5)Then the Drivable Ground Pack .exe 6)Then finally the WWI Pack v2 .exe So I followed the directions as far as I know. And life isn't too bad now since it runs and since my computer isn't crashing every time I try to run it. DMJ

Well I'm really glad to hear that Paragreen, and if you ever have a question about stuff here don't feel that your questions are "idiotic" We've all have been here with our own questions that to these guys are known to be important to that individual and may have a real simple answer to...
