Just a couple of questions, maybe someone can help me out here.

1) Has anyone else here had any problems with downloading the 'Bombing the Reich' campaign from the site of the same name? or am I the only one? Is it possible to get this campaign elsewhere?

2) Is there anywhere else that I can get the Dovernight Terrain from? And as I am fairly new to this, which are the best sites around for add-ons etc for FS: SDOE?

I'm sorry that I didn't see your post earlier...but real life keeps me more busy than SDOE

Every file is located on the 'crosswind' servers....but they're not offering a realy good service out there! That means that when you try to download...it often breaks down

Sadly the files are very large and I couldn't find another web-provider (for free) to host them. So my sugestion would be that you keep on trying......

Another point is: If you're just looking for the Dovernight-Terrrain.....well, since the 1.5.2.9 patch you don't need that terrain anymore. That means you can 'darken' up every terrain now (just check the new Mission-Editor). If you're planing to download only the missions/planes/ground-stuff from 'Bombing-The-Reich' without the terrain you'll need to re-write every mission since they all refere to the Dovernight-Terrain.

Yeah, I can't even get the website to load, let alone get to the files.

Pity, though, for your package looks like it'll make SDOE a whole new game focussed on British strategic night bombing, similar to B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th. About the only differences would be that you can't carry out the role of group commander, and the campaign is scripted rather than dynamic.

The interesting thing about THAT is that there is a debate in the world of sims as to which is better... The scripted campaign offers more detailed and interesting missions, at the cost theoretically of the "not knowing what's going to happen next" feeling.

I can't wait to experience it, so good luck and hang in there getting the file situation sorted out!

and post them all at Simfiles (www.simfiles.com)? Each file has a 'readme' section, so maybe, like for the patch, you could say that particular file wasn't necessary if the user already had a similar patch...

Just a thought, since I'm so keen for this patch. See, I'm not only flying WW1!

SDOE isn't at the top of my 'workinglist'!
Real-life took me full !!
Since now (Aug. 2001) NO-ONE cared about 'Bombing the Reich' (no replies here and just about a couple of mails concerning this add-on), and now all this rush !!!??

What I'll do next:
- Find a better home for the whole package
- Split those huge files into smaller ones for easier download
- If I find time (if) ...I'll re-write the whole campaign

I'll keep you informed

Thank you for moving the bombing the reich campaign. I have been trying to download it for some time now, and I'll finally be able to get it. It really looks like an amazing campaign, I can't wait to try it out. Thanks again gt.
