I have found some charts about WWII planes in my HDD mess. I dont know where I DL them and I dont know if they are trustworthy. Just for your info.

Galland ps. I dont know what is the criteria for evaluating fire rating. (amount of rounds or diameter or both??) pss. I posted these to luftwaffe.net before. So sorry for ppl who saw these twice, but not every people in here check LWN. IP: Logged |

Galland I think it's based on muzzle velocity and deliverable lead and or explosive warhead. Interesting none the less, thanks...P [This message has been edited by Psi (edited 08-14-2001).] IP: Logged |

In fact, if these graphs are thought to be right, they can be used by planemakers to justify their plane is realistic in SDOE (climb, velocity, wing load) Some people complain about or happy with some planes that they are under/over powered. You can check with these graphs. Galland IP: Logged |

Depending on the source you will get different numbers for the same plane (respected sources...) I will grant you that it would be nice to have this (and other data) in an online reference format. But accuracy is key. Any accurate historians out there? I have room at the SnickWerks for something like this but it has to be verified....Then you run into is the plane calibrated for Mil Std Power or War Emergency Power (and yes, there is a mix out there...) All the numbers should be reflect WEP (IMHO) ------------------ Snickers =FC= Thou shalt maintaineth altitude, lest the earth rise up and smite thee. Based on the airplanes listed, I'd say that's a set of Warbirds (the sim) performance charts, probably from Iddons' or Flet's pages. It's probably based not on the performance of the actual aircraft, but on the performance of the modeled aircraft in the Warbirds sim. The firepower rating is an amalgam of kinetic energy, explosive weight, and number of guns, meant just for comparison of relative "hitting power." Warbirds' flight model IS pretty decent tho, so if you're having trouble finding data, if you use that, your model will be at least "reasonable."
