Being a former playtester for ZeniMax/Bethesda Softworks I started trying different things with my updated (thanks to those that helped me) version of SDOE.

1. Instrument gauges flicker or have weird graphics. I've got a 3DFX card but no matter what resolution I set the game on, the flicker remains....some guages are blank (tan in color) with only the needle showing. Also noticed that the props on some planes get weird multi-color/spinning graphics at times.

2. When I scroll through the list of nations in the training section the names disappear but then re-appear.

3. In the 'Shore Battery' Mission I noticed that once I take out one of the AA guns that I lose all control over my aircraft.

4. Have noticed that boogies will crash all-round me if I land in the middle of a dogfight. Downed 4 M-262s this way and got credit for the kills.

Who do I report these bugs to?

Wulfe.

Wulfe190,
1. delete your cache.tex and cache.dir and if you have also SDOEcache.tex and SDOEcache.dir you find in the Media folder.
SDOE will build these files again next time.
This helps often if you get textureproblems.
But maybe itīs a specific 3DFX problem.
2.
This is a known bug butif you move with the mouse over the window the text comes back. This happened also in the other screens.
3.Never heard of this problem
4.Sometimes AI is realy stupid :-)

Wulfe- please post a list of the planes with flickering instruments. This is caused sometimes when we have to break the files down to text files for editing and then reassemble them.

You wind up with polygons losing some info that causes the flickering (P-47 suffers from this). It's also much more noticeable (to me at least) in the openGL renderer.

The planes that have the flickering guages are:

Nearly all the Allied planes that come with the 6.0 Planepack.

Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner but I got injured at work last Friday and it's a bitch to type with one arm.

Yes DJ the p-47 for me as well and receintly the P-51D, in the compass. Also I don't know if this is my system, FS, or the plane but sometimes, depending on the view, usually if my pilot looks @ 2:00 and or 10:00 the gauges black out and blink (different than "flicker") Still testing, thanks...

You may be dropping your bomb so close to the target that you get caught in the blast. When this happens your aircraft jumps all over the sky until you either crash or regain control. Try it with invulnerable mode on. If you're high enough you'll regain control and be able to fly on. Either way, it'll tell you if it's your machine or 'pilot error'.

Wulfe190:

Were these problems with the 1.5 patch or one of the later ones, like the 1.5.2.9? Do you think it was really a Plane Pack problem? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the hassle. Sorry about your arm. At least it's covered, eh!

I've tried the game in various configs and the problem starts when the 1.5.2.9 patch is installed. I've tried jumping from one A/C to another and still loose control. So, imho, it is a glitch with the plane pack.

Oh yes, btw.....now I'm getting images of instrument panel in place of clouds.....no, I don't do drugs.

That should have read, it's a glitch with the patch, not the plane pack.

Perhaps your texture cachs is corrupted. Try deleting it. It will rebuild. For the patch it's cache.tex and cache.dir. For 1.5 it's SDOEcache.tex and SDOEcache.dir.

oops...I see where Rend already advised this.
