The Ju-88C seaplane carries a new type of torpedo which simulates a magnetic influence or proximity detonator. The advantage of this type of torpedo is it can be used against any ship in SDOE because it does not rely on below waterline hull contact.

This torpedo is based on the excellent work done by Raider in his 'test' bomb series and the 3D shell is courtesy of ArgonV. Other SDOE aircraft have successfully used this torpedo, for example the Sea Mosquito. (however the Seaplane Landing Zone must be included in the mission file when this torpedo is used)

Proposed as a replacement for the aging Heinkel He 115, the Ju-88C seaplane could be used in a variety of roles, which included torpedo bombing, mine laying and search & rescue. 'Beta' release of the Ju-88C seaplane will hopefully be available in a week or so. Features:

*Effective 'real' water take off and landing system.
*Weapons include torpedoes, rockets and mines.
*Two animated crew. Pilot's head moves insync with stick position and navigator's head tracks targets.
*Crew hatch with extending / retracting ladder.
*Night lights which can be switched on /off via the aircraft load out or a keystroke command.
*Incorporated retractable beaching gear.
*Engine exhaust pipes, float shadows, antenna wire, 2 x 20 mm and 2 x 37 mm cannons.
*Included an animated downed pilot and friendly agent in zip.
*Supports up to 1024 x 1024 aircraft 'skins'.
*1.5.2.9 'patch' compatible.

SWEET. I'm doing a lot of reading right now and some of the stories of the LW's seaplane rescue units are very interesting.
