I bought a Mad Catz steering wheel7pedals set recently, the pedals have a plug that goes directly to the steering wheel base, but it lloks like a normal serial plug... I have a cable w/ 1 normal plug on one side that goes to the joystick port and 2 ports onthe other side... I wondered what could happen if I plugged there the joystick and the pedals.... any suggest bros?Li'l b ------------------ ***BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAMPAIGN FOR A BETTER ROTABUGGY!!!*** IP: Logged |

It's not like you're adding power to it. You're just connecting the two. Shut your machine off, plug it in, close your eyes, and turn on the machine. Except for the thermo nuclear explosion, it'll either work or it won't. IP: Logged |

ok, I'm home now, trying to let this thing work... I have the Mad CAtz pedals wich have a female(do u say male/female for th eplugs?)9 pins plug that is supposed to be plugged to the steering wheel base, i tried to plug it to a serial port (guess the one for the serial mouse) but now I dunno how to let the PC see it... gosh I'm so dumb w/ hardware! Just gimme some help guys, I'd love to fly w/ rudder pedals!!! I even have a double attach for the game port, but I need to find some kind of adaptor from 9 to 15 pins... suggestions?li'l b IP: Logged |

lb...I am no expert either, hardware gives me nightmares which is why I stick with one brand whenever possible, LOL!! But, for the pedals to work, the PC must recognize them somehow....I doubt plugging them into the serial port will work unless they are designed as serial port interfaces. Most analog pedals have to be connected in the joystick chain; example - I have a CH stick, CH throttle, and CH pedals. The stick plugs into the throttle, the throttle into the pedals, the pedals into the joystick gameport on my sound card. As far as the PC is concerned, a joystick is connected - then, drivers enable the OS to see that there are other axis' connected. Most stick drivers recognize the addition of pedals, even standard Windows gameport drivers. This might, or might not, be your problem. If you can't plug the stick into the pedals and the pedals into the gameport, you might be able to get a plug adapter to convert your 9 pin female to a 15 pin male...I think it is still possible to get those...or, none of this may apply to your setup. Hope there was some info there that you can use. ------------------ nealg=FC=

yeah nealg, u r right, I was considering how much dumb was my idea of pugging them to the serial port, anyway I still gotta try the 15/9 converter and plug it to the double cable, then I can try for a generic 4 axis control stick... we'll see... Thanks 4 th esupport! li'l b IP: Logged | |
