Though somethings on the template wont be used till we release beta 2 since I've mapped a few new things on it you can still paint it. I just need to add rivets now and that it's. I've redone almost all the panel lines and added ones that were missing. Here's a pic of the P-40 rendered in 3D exploration which by the way I use now to paint planes for SDOE. u are putting all the rivits on arnt you? in photoshop its hard to put rivits on but is psp7 all u do is make a new type of line (dot space dot space)and then draw lines where u want the rivits. this is how i do and it saves loads of time.IP: Logged |

you have to have the model in a formate that 3DEx likes. I open the whole plane in AC3D and export the model I want to paint in vrml and just load it up on 3DEx and paint away. If you want to paint using 3DEx i'll send you the model. IP: Logged |

I have to ask you something Razer. I got the P-40 and when I "F2" I see a blur as far as the skin is concerned. I went into options and bumped up the maximum texture size to 512 and or 1024. Mission loads and I do get a better resolution on the skin, clear and sharp. But the next time it loads it's back to the blurry image. My card does not support hi-res skins but for a brief moment I do get better quality. Any Ideas why this is happening and would it stay in the hi-res mode if I delete the texture cashe? Thanks...P IP: Logged |

i've been getting this too and my card does support high res and I've noticed this when my in game setting is set for 256 textures. Even if the texture 1024 it looks like it's 128x128. I think it's a bug in the new code. IP: Logged |

Sorry about this post I didn't realize it was blank. Anyway Raz, ya that's exactly what I get on the skin. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm sure it's a temporary thing and I'm not worried at all. I think the plane is great (the limited time I've flown it) As far as texture is concerned, I also have a flashing gunsight, but the P-40 is not the only plane I have this problem. Is there a fix for this? Not that it interferes with my deadly accuracy or anything ThanksP [This message has been edited by Psi (edited 08-03-2001).] IP: Logged |

Just a little update, just want t show off something that i'm kind of proud of. check out the exhaust. That's all paint and not polygons. PSI, this is a rendering engine problem and nothing to do with the planes. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin Brought to you by the Campaign for a better Pacific. FS Hangar

Wow that looks great Raz and very accurate. Um what is a rendering problem, the gun sight or the skin resolution thing. Keep up the good work and concentrate all yer effort on the P-40 and nothing else, all your bills can wait another week P IP: Logged |

PSI, i think the rendering thing could be both problems. I'll need more info from the programs to know for sure but I know the gunsight is a rendering problem.IP: Logged |

Looks great Raz, but let me make sure I understand. You can paint directly on the 3d model, or does it just make viewing the results easier? IP: Logged |
