Hi guys, I would like to have the IL4 beta tested, if anyone would like to test her for me and actualy give me some feedback I'd appreciate it.

There is still work to be done ofcourse, mostly internal, but I would like to get some general feedback on her while I carry on working on the small things.

Please give me youe email address if you would like to beta test her.

Things I noticed while testing this great bird out:

Control Surface DOFs need fixin
Landing gear DOFs need tweakin
Interior needs to be spiced up a little
The "hump" on top needs to gbe textured properly instead of just one shade of green
Some control surfaces need backings
Lower level lods need doing
A few shading problems here and there on the wings etc..
GUI work needs doing

Well thats about it! As you can see Ive ben flying this bird alot lately whilst torpedo testing. I havent even begun to look into the damage modeling yet...
Ive ben meaning to get that torpedo to you but man it just refuses to work right! It requires ALOT more testing and tweaking...

I'd love to do it, may be I'll be able to sqeeze in a few minutes of flying between my work on the CD and my hollidays coming soon.
Just send it to me if you don't have enough beta testers, I'll try to report for friday.

Argon, thats a very old version you're talking about there

Thanks guys, I'll get her packaged up and mailed out to you with some notes. Hippie, testing on a low end machine would be good, but I'm fairly sure it will make your FR suffer, which is a shame but unavoidable, still it will be good to know

Thanks Ren for some very fast feedback From that I've done alot of LOD work, lowering the ploycount more especialy on lower LODs, adding lower LODs to some parts that didn't have it, reduced poly count on the high poly nose. I knew FR would be a problem and from what Ren told me it meant I realy had to try harder to drop the count.

Thanks Ren

Also, for the hell of it, I added this for night missions:

Running lights yet to be added.

Hi Nat,
I was a bit beind schedule with the CD stuff so I only tried it a few minutes. I used your mission over the channel (Medium bombing I guess). FR was OK (with 3 or is it 4 IL4 + all those german fighters) and I only have P2 400. Handling was OK as far as I can tell but didnt have time to try take off and landing. I like very much the look of the upper turret gunner . Didn't notice any particular problem either with 3D model or DM but again didn't have enough time.
Thanks for letting me fly it, it's one more great plane for the eastern front

Thanks alot Sailor, I've reduced the poly count a great deal now, infact I lowered it even more last night, it's a big worry of mine, but don't worry too much, the version you have was more for general feel testing, so I can get some opinions on how it's moving, Rens feedback helped alot to reinforce the need for lower poly count, so thats been the main area I've worked on, but if you're able to any further testing that would be great, but if not don't worry to much about it

Thanks!
