First off there's an early Spitfire Vb, in the old Battle of Britain camo which was used in the North Africa campaing as late as early 1942:

Second is a Spitfire Vc with clipped wings flown by "Widge" Gleed and carrying his initials as code letters.

Finally there's a Spitfire Mk VIII flown by 601 Squadron in Italy 1944.

All planes come with modified .sm files to work with the Hi-Res skin.

Even if my system is limited to 1.5 and 256x256 they look gorgeous and I am ready to invest in the future.

And here I thought only the Mk VI had the extended wingtips..

I downloaded the file SpitVIII_UF-1_camo.zip from simfiles and the enclosed tif file says it's for the SpitVC and it too wont open up in preview. I'm still trying to get the other 2 skins but the net is slow tonight.

The following are my inspiration at least, to make my own skins, if I only knew how to They're both models of course but they're great examples of the Spit VIII with the std 'B' wing, I think, as used by the RAAF in WWII. I'm currently using a 256res skin of this same bird and it's not too bad considering.

Dinga if you want I can email to you the zip file of the Spitfire HF MkVIII. It's only a 612kb download. If you want I can send you the skin as well.
