some people are having trouble finding what they want so I have had the idea that if i was to make a page, and put on it table that said Plane Name, Creator and a link to the creators Download page, then it would mean that people coulds find the plane they wanted, and the creators site would get visitors, who might not have known the address.

NB: by download page, i mean the page on the creators site where the link to the file is, nnot the file itself.

Any comments/oppinuns

Hey Da Jug, sounds like you have your volunteer for the project you talked about a little while ago.

Vmartini,

I've been collecting the links since that one post earlier. I'll send you what I have this weekend.

Here's a thought on this. Why don't we sign up on a free ISP for just this page and give all of the plane developers the password. Onec the page is put together, this will make maintaining it easier. That way when they release an update or a new plane, they can modify the entry or add the new one. We can put a link to "Guidelines for adding/editing listings" a developer can click on. We can aslo put an e-mail link so they can notify one of us if they feel uncomfortable in HTML.

This way, anyone with a website can link to this page, or save it and post it on their site.

This has several advantages over the download section on this board. First, it deals with aircraft only. We don't have to worry about posts pushing a message out of the list, and we don't have to worry about a plane that was released 4 months ago not showing up because it falss outside the user's display preferences.

Good idea, bad idea?
