Has anyone figured out a way to paint the spinner on the spitfive without it going over onto the props? Here's a LouIV I'm kind of proud of--thanks to Raider I was able to get a pic w/ all the rivets and detail. IP: Logged |

I hope to get Barcat to upload that one in a few days,if I find the time to finish the ones I want, along with a 1024 scheme for Razer's great 51b--did I mention that Razer's poster is on my wall beside the Weezer one? hehe I keep finding goofs I've made along the way--these big textures really show off my mistakes hehe, or I would have already uploaded some. I'm also trying a 1024 one for Jedi's new 1A and, if that one goes well, I'll maybe to a 1024 version of the Jg26 Black 22 109g soon. Ka if you find a pic of a spit w/ a black nose that you like, I'll try it, because the color of the spinner looks to share textures w/ the prop unless I'm remembering wrong. IP: Logged |

Casualty, your terrain tile edges are visible. What causes that? By the way this is now my wallpaper. IP: Logged |

I don't know what's causing those tiles to do that Jerry. I get that in Opengl, but I don't notice it when at low altitudes. It gets more defined up high though. It's either that or Jaggys with d3d. Maybe I have an opengl setting off with graphics card or something.[This message has been edited by casualty26ac (edited 06-21-2001).] IP: Logged |

No worries Cas.. Man that 51 sure is SWEET!Psi, I believe that is a 150 gallon 'slipper' fuel tank that some of the Spits used for long range work. I believe all the Spits used in Malta had them when they all flew off the carrier Eagle. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Cas,I re-applied the fix for the spinner texture for the Spit V in PP6.1 (it got broken in PP6). The same goes for the Spit IX. Check out my paint schemes for them both on Werner's site to find out the exact mapping. I'm off pixels at the moment and into real paint. I'm working on a number of jacket patches for a couple of A-2's I'm going to get in the near future. Love the 361st Mustang ------------------ Yardstick painted this IP: Logged |

Thanks Yardstick, I'll go give them a look. I'll do a less famous 361st 51 too. Yard, if you haven't tried already, you'll love painting this big! The new 1A corsair even looks meaner and fatter in 1024--I'll post a screen in a few. Jerry, I've tried with a aliasing on and off and still see the same tile division w/ opengl. With d3d I had planes all broke up in the tower view. I used to think it was errors in the 3d models lol. With the new patch, in the tower view(fly-by too), you can zoom right in on them and check your details, so I'm liking opengl better. VDU had posted something in the patch forum about adding more directx features and ending the evil jaggies reign. [This message has been edited by casualty26ac (edited 06-22-2001).] IP: Logged |

Cas, I use OpenGL also and don't see them. Try tweaking your video card settings and see what happens.IP: Logged |

Wow! Just proves what I've thought all along: a lot of those so called "superior" sim models are really just models no better than ours with really good skins on them. Now that we can have the high detail capability too, "our" artists are proving to be the "superior" ones IMO Did you say you had a 1024 Corsair skin? I just happen to have a plane it will work on... ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |
