Jv44~Siggi Pilot	posted 06-20- 08:11 AM I'll have one stab at this, then it's down to you lot. SDoE, imho, needs a command structure if it's going to proceed to a point where it's multi-squad playable. We need: eleven councillors. Those eleven councillors will elect one of themselves to be the dictator. Having elected a dictator, the other ten give their word they will follow his direction even if/when they totally disagree with what he directs. The council WILL have the power to sack the dictator in extreme circumstances, by a simple majority vote (6-4 or better). To elect the eleven councillors, we need at least eleven volunteers who are prepared to stand for that post. They should post their names and qualifications (modeller, skinner, whatever) and accomplishments ("I built the GF-677 or whatever") in this thread. If we get eleven only, job done and they're in. If we get more than eleven, the community votes on who should NOT be in (easier to vote out standees than vote in, unless the number is HUGELY above the eleven we need). Having got our eleven, they have to vote for a dictator. Any of the eleven who wish to stand for dictator must provide a manifesto of intent for the council members to consider. The council members then vote for their choice. The person with the most votes gets the job. Any ties, they alone stand for another vote until one finally wins the most votes. The dictator then says how things will proceed, with advice (ADVICE) from his council. At any time the council can, IN EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES, sack the dictator. Now...let's use this thread for two purposes: a) The community can vote on this my proposal. Vote "YES" or "NO" b) Those members who wish to stand initially for the council vote "YES" and "I wish to stand for the council." Guys, if you have comments about this, please go to this thread: http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/005144.html Leave this one for simple "YES" and "NO" votes and for members to post their wish to stand for council. But I do think there should be some sort of decision making process like a "Counsel" and yes the "Counsel" members efforts givin to this sim should be considered when they are selected or whatever. Any situation that has no organizers is disorganized in my opinion (which is not worth much since its only thing I can contribute) IP: Logged

I want this, I want that, etc. Then you give them this or that and they don't want it [by the time you give it to them]. Seen this a number of times before as, no doubt, some of you have. In my opinion, this cancels out how things are presently done as being the answer. A Dicktator? I've seen that talked about before too, at another flightsim forum. Pisses off those who only want it their way ... but seems the best of the 2 choices I think. Perhaps someone will come up with a third choice not thought of yet? Something that is, at the least, a compromise between the two. If it helps any, this is not the only flightsim game/forum trying to figure this one out! IP: Logged
