OK, just posted on the Desired Enhancements, I think what we need adding to the TCP/IP screen if possible is a box to enter the IP address to look at for ongoing games, in this way someone with a fast PC and fast net connection would be able to host/serve missions, this may be faster than using the Internet servers conidering we have so very fast PCs around now with very good net connections, it would also take way the dependance on the other servers, maybe Bryan will have time in the furutre to look at this aspect (I know he's busy), it would be cool to be able to host this way though.IP: Logged |

I was under the assumption,, that the servers on are used to start the games and get our ip's to each other,,when the game starts it goes to TRUE Peer to Peer,, so the Server is just put on Time/Wait TCP mode.. The TCP/IP connection ,, really just allows a tru private game. without others joining ot knowing you are flying or testing etc

A long while back, Mighty answered a question of mine that was similar. I think it had to do with having one computer set up as a Windows Dial Up Server (?) or something like that. I wonder if that post is still in existence?Think I found it: http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000047.html That might help answer the question. ------------------ nealg=FC= [This message has been edited by nealg (edited 06-17-2001).] IP: Logged | |
