Went to Cali12 today from 3-5 pm MST and found 1 flyer. Where's everyone flying at these days? Also, I have the 3 patches installed. Do I also need to have 'Un-Official Fighter Squadron 1.5.2.9 Patch' and 'Plane Pack 6.0->6.1 Upgrade' installed to be online compatible? One more if I may, found the low-res p38rock panel. Need a link for the hi-res Thanks

Ritt, Most of the truly faithful are on at night using the patch. Don't look for real big croud right now. Reason being that most are in a holding pattern till things get worked out. Some are not really sold on the new PP being the online standard right now. We still waffle between that and PP6.0 Hopefully things will get back to normal soon and others will find the time to spend online. Too many things transpired in a very short period of time and it's like waiting for a fish to bite (if ya fish) P IP: Logged |

ritt_bear. this website has not been updated in more than a year. The Online Standard really is just an idea, it is not there in reality. If you want to fly online get 1.5.2.9 and 6.1 and fly around 10pm onwards GMT. Snake IP: Logged |

But saying that,,,You will find many still using patch 1.5,, (not for want of) but becasue we still have problems Find us on California_12 Lobby (GMT timezone 9:30pm onwards) Using the usual 1) SDOE Patch 1.5 2) Planepack 6.1 3) Nations 2 4) WorldWar 1 Pack 5) Harmens Ground Pack (soon to be a Par file) Everyone Should Have Planepack 6.1 by now for 2 reasons,,,
For 1...it's absolutly great and 2...swapping Usual sdoe patch 1.5 to the Beta test x.x.x.9 sdoe patch is very easy,, just load up a different SDOE icon! [This message has been edited by Pye (edited 06-15-2001).] IP: Logged |

Yup, I'm still on 1.5, 6.0I've been too busy modding to download 6.1 yet, but I'll get to it eventually. I need to figure out whats the deal with my sounds in the patch, and assuming I can sort that out by installing Meatwaters' and also that I don't get translucent alpha tifs for clouds again, I might be inclined to switch. I'm not too sure I get all the alt explosions, bullet penetration stuff either, anytime I've flown the patch with people they say to turn it off anyways. And it keeps getting bigger and bigger. How big is SDOE on your PC? Mine is 1.5g! I'm sorry and I don't what to hurt anyone's feelings but this is becoming a joke. With the Ground Pack soon to be a Par file? Does this mean this pack will be forced on me because it will become an online standard? Do we need 4 Beaufighters? Do we need 4 uber Corsairs? And with the up coming new terrains how much space will they take up? How big is your sdoecashe file? Guys you really need to back off on all this stuff. All this new stuff is great but they shouldn't be a "online standard" just because someone made them. Hey stick a fork in the Pig, it's ready to eat! You are just like a kid in a candy store, you want everything you see.

There was a whole brouhaha over this once before, and some really good ideas were batted around, but nobody made a decision. Well just my opinion here but since spin has proven committed to the Plane Pack system, I think he should be the one directing these discussions, and if necessary making a decision about the whole thing. The bull's running amok folks, lets start grabbing at the horns.HD - Project Robert is still on the books, and becoming more of a priority as time goes on... Do we need 4 Corsairs, and however many Bf109s as well? I dont have an answer to this question. I _do_ know that the DIME group is attempting to eliminate the some "redundant" planes in some cases by careful use of loadouts. This is not the complete answer though. In fact I am not sure you will ever get people to come to a concensus.IP: Logged |

No the real question is do we need a Ju-88DN? How the hell did that get into the PP? Was it a joke?Snake IP: Logged |

do a search on that JU-88DN ... keywords,,Gustavo, Spin , Mistake, First Plane Attempt, It is in now so leave it, But it was cleared that the person that made it, who makes icebergs really doesn't mind it out. The other planes, No comment. Himdog. for your info, The only downloads needed for my ONLINE standard (there is no official anymore) Sdoe patch 1.5 or xxx.9 6.0 mb Nations 2 17.7 mb planepack 6.0 32.4 mb planepack 6.1 update 14.7 mb WW1 Planepack 14.0 mb groundpack (pre-par file) 15.6 mb
Total 86 Meg thats roughly 5.5 hours constant download at 43kps Using www.downloadaccelerator.com or such it's 1 night download. With the Auto disconnect feature, you can sleep easy! and a resume feature , if it loses connection. Any other files are what you want ,, not what you need! SO can anyone post: How long would that take on DSL? And How long would the Update CD take IF it were all on one Server with DSL? For interest! if I get DSL and think I will be buying a CD update anyway from our french volunteer, equivlant of spoons update disk when he does it.

Come on now Psi, if ppl are trying to clean up the plane packs by cutting out Bf-109's and Corsairs while they leave in an aknowledged fake? Thats just plain dumb.Snake IP: Logged |

not to change direction with this discussion .... but ....need help understanding Network Stuff. I have two launch icons for FS - the default icon and one for FS 1.5.2.9 On Cali12 the default gives 2 choices: - Aces Den and 1.5 the 1.5.2.9 gives: - 1.5.1 Some fliers show up on 1.5, others pop up on 1.5.1 so I'm constantly restarting FS to access the different server areas. Is this the way it's done? Also, I go to TailSlide's Server page to look see if anyone is flying. Just saw 4/16 on Cali12 (it doesn't show me if it's 1.5 or 1.5.1?) but when I go there no one's home! Any tips will help mucho IP: Logged |
