As an example, you can get PC2100 certified memory (the 266MHZ stuff) for about half the price a local store will charge. They ship free in the US and they sell Micron memory (you can get generic stuff as cheap along with the associated problems).Current price is:
256MB DDR PC2100 for $60-- Yes that's correct!
256MB PC133 SDRAM- $60
