Ok,
On top of everything else, I'm spending my time putting together a SDOE Updates CD(s). The file structure is set up, some of the pages are already done, and I have most of the files already. This has turned into a monumental task as you guys are so darn prolific

I need permission from all terrain builders, plane builders, skinners, tutorial writers, mission/campaign builders, and add-on creators to include their stuff on the CD.
For the above stuff, the list will be shorter if those who DON'T want it included let me know.

There are some specific things I need permission for since they are/may be copyrighted.

The SDOE patch by Sean, Bryan & company
SDOE Chameleon
SDOE Control
SDOE Beeper
Open Plane Studio
Hippie's Tools
Ground Crew

In addition, I'm asking permission to include the following software on the CD's:
AC3D demo
Anim8or
The GIMP
Irfanview
HJSplit
StarOffice
Zonealarm
Parsoft's tools, demo's, & terrains

It will also include the complete Fighter Squadron Central website on the CD with the tutorials and links to everything.

Oh yeah, once it's put together, I'll need one person in Australia, and one person in Europe that has a burner volunteer to be the supplier of the CD's in those areas.

If I can find a site to host the iso images, I'll post them too.

Hi Da Jug,

Great idea, this way the online standard will be more easily accessible not to mention convienent, and the other proggies included will be a plus imo.

As for permission, you're free to add any of my add-ons, past, present and future. Visit my site and you'll find heaps of add-ons, some are old however and my more recent work supersedes them. Regarding the Ground Pack, I'm currently packing it up in a PAR file so I hope I can get this out for those who prefer it that way and you'd probably prefer to put the PAR version on the CD.

For any content on my site attributed to an individual other than myself, you'll need to contact them regarding permissions, I don't want to make assumptions and speak on their behalf.

You weren't wanting the html/graphic interface (ie: my site) for it all, were you?

Good work DJH, I really appreciate it.

Feel free to use anything at all of mine.

It's a good idea, and yes, it will be a very big task I'm sure lol

BTW, except for the AC3D demo, all of the other programs are freeware with no spyware/popup ads

I will also include pdf/html versions of "The GIMP User Manual" and "Grokking The GIMP". Both are released under the Open Publications lisence.

On the additional software- if they have a Linux version, should that be included too?

You are welcome to anything I have done-- but I would probably not include my stuff if I were you....with the new loadouts, I have to update them and change them anyways Besides-- the campaigns files aren't that big anyways so I guess we really don't need them on a CD

They'll be included anyways
here's a breakdown of wht will be on this. If I can't get permission to include the files, I'll have a link on the CD to the appropriate website.

Current Plane Packs, both WWI and WWII
Beta aircraft, and ones that didn't make it in time for the Plane Packs
Ground objects, driveable and static
Current Nations
Current patch. 1.5 and 1.5.X.X
Skins, including hi-res textures
Terrains
Missions
Campaigns
Open Plane tools & Docs
Tutorials
Sounds
Add on software (like sdoe control)
updated key files like startup.ppf and keyboard.ini
Additional software listed in the previous post.
Anything else I can think of.

I know there may be some loadout issues once the updated PP is released, but this project will take a while (I'm figuring 3-4 weeks) to put together. Reason it will take so long is I need to get an update out for the FM document I'm working on, and FM's for several aircraft. (Written while treading water really fast to keep from going under )

Sure, you can add all the skins from my site and all of the terrains floating out there.

Good luck. It looks like from the size of this project, you'll need some prayers....I'll light a candle for you.

Hello Jug Head,
I was just about to buy myself a CD burner to do just that, so I guess I can do it for France at least, may be Europe depending on how many CD I'll need to send out.
Sending you an e-mail 4 the details.
Cheers
Sailor
