Does anyone know why the P51d undercarrage always buckles? Just as you make your approach to the runway - drop the undercarrage & volia - Buckled wheels..

I forget what the magic number is, but 180 moh sounds about right..... Over that speed the gear take damage. So make sure you get them up right away too...

also as a note, you shouldn't realy be doing more than 130mph for a landing, but like the guys say, drop the gear when you're going to fast and it'll buckle

If I remember back when all this started the magic number was 250.

Its obviously an easy thing to check.

The Mustang has always had weak legs, you gotta go easy.

One of idiosyncronies of FS is that with most aircraft, you can drop your gear at any speed. the Pony is accurate. You can also run at full throttle all day without blowing your engine but whatch the fuel gauge. HB
