What big changes in the SDOE development!!! But in the same time I'm completely lost and confused here....sorry guy's I've lost track of a lot of things.Questions: 1. 512x512 It was mentioned that for the new textures you'll need better cards, is this correct? If so please think of the people with older graphic-adapters out there.. 2. Planepack What's standard now? I've played around with PP6.0 for so long and now you guy's are talking about PP6.1! Ok I've downloaded it from Spin's site, but in the readme it's called a 'Beta'. Are 'Betas' now standard?? Also: The readme mentions CTD with several planes! Has this been fixed? 3. Nations I personaly only know about nations V2.0! What's the rush about 2.1??? Where is it? Sorry Werner, I know that you're pi"*" about this subject, but I would realy like to know where it's coming from and what included. 4. Terrain What kind of terrains do we have now? I've seen the pacific one, the bavarian, stalingrad, etc., etc. Where are they? Do we play online with them? What's finished? 5. Patch What version do we use now? 1.5.2.8 or 9 ?? Do we use it online now? What are the benefits? Sorry guy's a lot of questions here. Hope you're not pi"**"ç about this subject! Please understand my confusion, cause I'm just sitting here playing around (sometimes on- and sometimes offline), creating fakes, skins, etc. and after a while I've lost track of all this changes. OK help is on its way.512x512: no u will not have to update your 3d card BECAUSE( AND I WISH FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THIS) ITS TOTALY OPTIONAL. there is a new menu in the ...9 patch graphics menu that says "max texture RES" or somit like that. now if your card cant handle 512x512 textures just change that selection down to 256x256 or you could even have it as lok as 128x128. i think that pp6.1 is standerd now but i seem to have the beta version like u GT. we use ...9 online and there are some great benifits with it.mainly U DONT HAVE BE A ACE PILOT WITH ADSL TO KILL SOME 1!!  thats as far as i can help.

Terrain: Diego's Pacific Terrain is finished, no others are (of our work).Midway: is released but in the future will be worked on more and has already been worked on by Tailgunner. Stalingrad: Terrain built and mapped but still needs alot of work on the City, towns and airfields Singapore: Only in early model stage and will one day be completely rebuilt Bavaria: Nearing 100% completion, this will be the next full terrain release. 512 texture support: You don't need a new graphic card using patch x.9 which has large texture support, but to use large textures you do need a newer graphics card, but you have the option to set the sizes how you want them. eg, Voodoo3's don't disply 512 textures, the models appear untextured, some other cards my crash. Here is the plan I have bumping around in my head when it comes to terrains. Once I touch up Somme, I'm diving into Bavaria's airfields full force. After Bavaria is released, Midway is next. It only has one airfield if you dont count the aircraft carrier "airfield", so it should be a "quick" job. Once that has been released, Stalingrad will get the attention. Needing all of those buildings will take some time and if you or anyone else can model houses and buildings, we need your help! An added bonus to helping the terrain team is that you get to fly all of these unreleased terrains waaaaay before they hit the general public Its a slow process GT but, we're plugging away  IP: Logged |

FWIW - Midway actually had two airfields. If I remember correctly, one was paved, the other not.... One on the lesser island one on the greater....I personally don't care because its PBY domain.  IP: Logged |

Snickers, If you can find me an image of the two at the same time I want it. Its not that I dont believe you but, I have tons of images scrounged from the net when I textured it and the only info I have on the main island having an airfield is waaaaay after the war...and that was when they stopped using the original strip. I want to make this as acurate as can be so pretty please with sugar on top, post a pic for me  IP: Logged |
